Best learning Polish CD/DVD set?

Hello,

Whats the best cd,dvd set i could buy for learning polish in my spare time. I work with some polish people and ive picked up a few phrases, colours,numbers etc but can only learn so much from them. Ideally it would include the polish alphabet and learn me basic enough polish enough to have a basic conversation. Any ideas?

It would be great if it could come in a downloadable version that i could burn onto a cd but not 100% neccessary

Rosseta Stone offers CD's also.

Definitely Rosetta Stone that is what I am using
It is total immersion in Polish with Visual ,Voice recognition etc

I have a teacher. Best way to learn any language

I have used Rosetta Stone Polish for revision - It's a useful drill tool, though basic as they only seem to have a Level 1.
Pimsleur do a course also, though I haven't experience of using it.
There's a Language Now course also, based entirely around sounds recordings.

I started off dabbling in Polish to learn a little bit about it and a few phrases, but then I got really serious about it. I have scoured the web for anything I could find in the way of resources. There is a very good course here, free access to download:

The grammar book and dictionary have been very useful to me. It's a little light on sounds recordings for the lessons though.

learning polish

From what I've seen and heard, Polish is insanely hard to learn. has anyone learned it(obviosly not primarily from their parents) and could steer me in the right direction of how to really get going on it? I have already gotten BYKI and The Rosetta Stone to help learn it, but they are both very limited programs.(neither goes over the alphabet, sounds or grammar at all.) I found a useful page for the alphabet and the sounds and usage of letters but I sure there will be a point when it will be about learning the grammar. I plan to search for pen pals once I know enough to be able to write an email about basic things. Are there links about grammar usage and whatnot? Also if someone knows a more useful program, please let me know. I'm new enough at it to where what I have is still helpful, I'd just like to plan ahead. And at planing ahead, is it normal for a plane trip to cost $1000 from the U.S. to Poland round trip? Thanks for all the help,

hello, i need some help. My boyfriend is American and he's trying to learn Polish but we don't know which CD's would be best. is anyone familiar with ROSETA STONE ones?

i would appreciate any suggestions :)

Hi.
Rosetta Stone is quite a good place to start - it is composed of basic words, moving onto simple sentences all in polish.
There are pictures to indicate what is happening and the user learns by trial and error, like real life! It should give him a good start in Polish, and he will be able to start speaking early on. It is however a basic course and should be considered as a starting point. Being speak and repeat lessons he will acquire correct pronounciation also.

Worth considering.

Yeah, I'm using Rosetta Stone too; I compliment it by trying to use the language as much as possible (usually when I'm by myself, or drunk with my mates) it helps to remember stuff.
