MarcinK - | 36 9 Apr 2009 / #3Polish people call themselves Polacy, Polaków in the plural. If its in the singular, and your a guy you say 'Polak', if your a woman you say, 'Polka'. But since there's more English people on this forum than Poles, I guess you mean the English version. In that case, plural 'Poles' or the 'Polish', singular a 'Pole'. Hope that helps.
Seanus 15 | 19,672 9 Apr 2009 / #4Let's get this straight. Jestem Polakiem is said by Polish males to tell people that they are Polish.NEVER have I seen this nonsense like Polock or some other derogatory BS like Polack.A Polak is a Polish male. Jestem Polką is said by a Polish female.
MarcinK - | 36 9 Apr 2009 / #5Jestem polakiem, is almost neuter, it's like saying 'I'm Polish', but to be grammatically correct, a male says 'jestem Polak' a female says 'jestem Polką'
Seanus 15 | 19,672 9 Apr 2009 / #6True but most males use jestem Polakiem, that's what I hear from being here.
leszek38 - | 31 9 Apr 2009 / #9"jestem Polak" sounds rather like "my name is Polak"jestem Polakiem is more correct
