Dobrze vs Dobry

I know these are very common words and this should be easy, but I still can't figure out when to use "dobrze" or "dobry." If you could give me real life conversational examples, that would help.

As in English, Polish adjectives frequently have an adverbial pair: dobry/dobrze, pewny/pewno etc...., sort of like 'good'/'well', 'nice'/'nicely' etc...

In a sentence to illustrate. "On jest DOBRYM człowiekiem." = He's a GOOD person."
vs. "On mówi DOBRZE po polsku." = He speaks Polish WELL. (and not "good"!!!)

Does this make things clear?

I was always told that the literal translation was dobrze = good and dobra = ok (in a positive way)

Dobra, jesteś dobrze poinformowany ;) Dobrze also means well and Poles confuse good with well.

I have noticed this, and on with in (which was explained to me by the example that correct way is "Jestem na Kazimierzu" and not (which would be the english translation) "Jestem z Kazimierzu"

Jestem z depends on the gender. Jestem z Brucem, I'm with Bruce. Jestem z Jolą, I'm with Jola.

Dobrze is an adverb which serves as an adjective.

Jestem na Łitwie, I am in Lithuania or jestem na Łotwie, I am in Latvia. Jestem na Węgrzech, I am in Hungary, is an interesting one.

this is complicated, really.

"dobra" is an adjective for female
like dobra kobieta - a good woman.

but it also serves as 'alright' or 'ok'.

"dobrze" is an adverb - well,
but, funnily enough, it could be used interchangibly with "dobra"
when it is used as 'alright'. "dobrze" in this sense is more polite than "dobra".

"dobrze, zrobię to" = alright, I'll do it (more polite)
"dobra, zrobię to" = exactly the same (less polite, though)

hence, one could say "dobrze, jesteś dobrze przygotowany"
which would mean "alright, You're well prepared".

so, "dobrze, nie powiem nikomu" is "alright, I won't tell anybody"
(with comma after "dobrze") and NOT "good I won't tell anybody".

Don't make it more complicated than it is.

dobrze = adverb (describes a verb)
dobry, dobra, dobre = adjectives (describe a noun)
