some words I get a buzzing in my ear

I know what you mean. Some sounds are quite nazal and I've noticed I have to have a different mouth shape for some sounds. The hardest thing for me is that the word endings keep changing......

I have always been amazed at the ability of the human brain of a child to easily learn and adapt to whatever language is present.

My nephew and his Japanese wife and daughter visited from Tokyo recently and their little girl spoke Japanese to mom and English to dad. When I visited some friends who had been in Rome for about 6 months, their 6 year son just rattled away in Italian with the apartment complexes door keeper with perfect ease.

Why as adults do we lose that ability? Is it a fear of sounding stupid?

Children brains "evolve" and have more abilities to learn that adults brains.
That's my opinion :)

My friends cousin is, for want of a better term, mentally disabled. He has water on the brain or something but when his family were away to Spain on holidays, he picked up the phone and started talking in Spanish to the other person on the phone. It's quite strange and interesting how the mind of a child works.

it's the ugliest language in the world imo - but then that is probably due to the strangeness of the letters / sounds when one's first language is so different.
Possibly polish people think English is ugly for the same reason

I like Polish because I can read any sentence in it and instantly be able to pronounce it with relative ease and accuracy (and my Polish skills aren't even that good). Compared to English, Polish pronunciation is very precise.

I only like the language when I naturally pronounce words correctly by practice or instinct. It's a nice validation.

Lithuania dialect of polish language is the best

Poland's "National Poet" Adam Mickiewicz was actually Lithuanian by birth, correct?-:)

Huh? Lithuania dialect? As far as I know Lithuanian is a separate language...

But you probably have on mind the dialect that was used in the Kresy Wschodnie (Eastern Borderlands, the polish name for the territories lost after the II World War in favor of USSR). It sounds a bit different from standard polish (people say that you could hear the difference between "h" and "ch" when someone is using dialect from Kresy) and is very rarely used nowadays...

Here is an excerpt from old polish movie (1936), where the main actors used dialect from Lwów (currently Lviv in Ukraine)
