Why can't microsoft have the different langauges in the fonts section it would be so easy then.

There's some way to change that. Besides Poles can understand what that means even without Polish letters.

Go to> Tools> Internet Options> >Languages > Add > Select Polish [pl] >OK.

It will appear next to your icon tray..lower right..your right. You can select PL but the characters are made by pressing Ctrl + Alt + desired character.

I have set my keyboard this way (like FISZ's instuctions) and I keep the language tool bar in the system tray at the bottom of the screen so I can switch back and forth easily. I find that if I don't type words with the correct Polish letters, Poltran can't translate them for me. I have considered putting little pieces of tape over my keys to help me learn where things are. You have to hit SHIFT and press the punctuation keys to get additional letters. :)

Go to Control Panel...
- Regional and Language Options
- tab Languages
- click Details
- click on Add
- Add Polish with keyboard layout Polish (programmers)
- the language bar will now at least appear either as bar or in your Tray, if not select it in the same place in the language bar settings.

Does not work in Windows XP Pro SP3 (English version). Only United Kingdom/United States Keyboards.

Hello. You can configure your computer keyboard to type in Polish by going to the Regional and Language settings on your computer in the Control Panel. After you have configured your keyboard to type in Polish, you can press the Ctrl and Alt keys and then a letter and you'll get a Polish letter. :) I hope this helps.

Polish Keyboard Drivers for various versions of Windows are here:URL
No ALT codes to remeber just ALT+letter (not ALT+CODE). Works great.

If you don't like fumbling with the ALT key simply use the Polish 214 keyboard where Polish diacritics are in the right place. Also, the Z is where it belongs on a Polish keyboard -- in the top letter row betweeen T and U, not in the lower-right corner.

hold alt and press 0156 on your numeric keyboard

Also, pressing ctrl is only needed when you hold left alt. If you press right alt, you don't have to use ctrl.

So, right alt + s should give you nice ¶ if you have polish keyboard layout installed. Make sure you use Polish (programmers) layout and not Polish 214.

I understand there is a Polish keyboard No. 214 which solves the problem. Anyone familiar with it?

Regular keyboard has Polish letters placed as they are placed on a regular Polish typing machine where ;'][/., are.

That's why one should use programmer's Polish keyboard, where all Polish letters are accessed by using right ALT and a letter (alt+s for ¶)

Did even make sense here?

I tried doing that, but I have the same problem. I have the right polish (programmers) thing, and i pressed alt 0156, but for some reason it won't work
