tell me what "misiu" means

Mikey, misiu means a teddy bear but I would not want to be called that...There might be a slight meaning of extra pounds there. I don't think women like this one. It is very nice for a man to be sweetly called misiu, but it's different for us...(I know, it's not fair)
There is a thread from few days ago which lists lots and lots of sweet words with translations. Take a peek there.

sapphire, misiu, misia are wonderful, sweet words as long as you don't have any extras on you

Niunia, Niunius, Niusia are endearing words used alone and often added to your real name.
Your sapphire name could be sapphiruniunia, aune above could be called auniusia etc

I quite like this one (misiu). Only this morning I found a little note on top of my laptop addressed to misiu (well, obvously to me ) and I already knew what it meant from another thread on this forum, and it doesn't bother me. I'm guessing it is probably more appropriate for this to be used from a woman to a man.

so how is misiu pronounced?
TheAutoholic   Feb 10, 07, 04:50 /  #
As far as I know, it would be said "meh-see-u"

Rather "Mee-shee-oo", with this "shee-oo" said almost at the same time.

How do you say "you are my precious" in Polish?

"Mój skarbie" ("My treasure", exactly).

"Pagórki", "pagóreczki"? Quite funny, I've never heard that here in Poland, but... It means "hillocks"

My husband use to call our daughter his little Zabtia (little frog). It has stuck, I still call her that. He use to call her Pieschaka (sp) wich means a high, trill or squeal. He did that after she started to babble. She can be loud sometimes! He did say he had to stop calling her that & start calling her by her given name, Emma but I still call her that as well, just not as much as zabtia or Emma!

"po-che-ha"

Pociecha. Sometimes polish parents call that their children when they are proud of them. It is inappropriate for boy-girl relation.
lechu   Mar 16, 07, 08:44 /  #
do not lisen Rys. Everything is appropriate if it doesnt hurt your fillings. it may by associated with childhood by him. Pociecha is very good and nice world.
Best regards
Lechu
