If you have a hobby and want learn polish you can try to find a polish site/forum for that hobby and read polish or write polish/english replays. Polish members should be happy to get bilingual (or wanted to be bilingual) next friend as they mostly weak in english. Much weaker than me, so lack of english is still a hard obstacle for them to get advanced info, literature which mostly spraded at net in english.

Regards

You should keep in mind the speak fluent is most advanced level.
My friend after 5 years live in Canada lost his fluent polish when he come back to Poland for a short visit when he was 26 years old.

So fluent speaking is a matter of practise and is not absolutely necessary for fine communication.

However, that is exactly what you said.

She stated that she heard it on the radio. For someone that claims to be intelligent, you seem to have difficulties reading and comprehending simple English.

Michal:
There is nothing posh or arrogant about a Tesol certificate

You're right, there isn't. I would hardly accuse you of being qualified.

To all those that want to learn Polish, good luck because it is not an easy language to learn :)
Spend some time on it everyday if you can (even 10min a day decomposing grammar and structure will help).

Try this link. There are 54 'lessons' comprising nearly 200 sentences in Polish with their English translations. It's not interactive and there are no audio files but it will demonstrate to you how Polish sentences can be constructed.
