Help with company name. Using Polish characters.

Hi all

We're currently rebranding a company called AEROPLANE and have run into a possible issue with one of the designs for the logo.

Basically, we're going with a logotype which is simply the word AEROPLANE in uppercase (in a stylised typeface) but with the 'L' swapped out for a 'Ł' - partly because we love the letterform and partly because it resembles a plane. The logo would therefore be something like this...

AEROPŁANE

So, because we don't speak/understand a word of Polish (except for a few words I learned when I was there about 10 years ago!), we need to know whether there will be any issues with writing the company name in this way - ie including Polish letters in the English spelling of a word. The company will trade in English and doesn't really have any links to Poland or its language.

If any Polish/English experts have any comments on this, we'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

B

I wouldn't have thought so, considering that some firms have just initials for their name. Great idea by the way!!

hmm I haven't idea, but "AEROPŁANE" in polish seems strange and means nothing. But everybody will understand that name is linked with aviation

Excellent - that's actually quite helpful.

We were worried that it was going to mean something totally obscene in Polish!

Cheers
