Skrzypce advice

fissionesque   Apr 14, 07, 02:44 /  #
I am having so much trouble with this word for some reason. It means violin, I doubt that I will have to use this word very much but it still bugs me. Any advice?

it goes

s->s like Side
k->c like Carbon
rz->sh like SHe
y->imagine something between e like Erand and ee like bEE
p->noramlly like every p
c->c Not like CHarity but softer. Try to imagine a sound like "ts" (actually in english

and it is better to pronounse it in two syllables: skrzyp ce

For me it was amazing when I was revealed that it is actually called skrzypce because it produces a sound like skrzyp-skrzyp.

Also keep in mind that in polish consonants do not always have this heavy pronounsiation but in order for speaking to be easier and softer, hard sounds are pronounsed somehow more softly
