Battle of Grunwald 2009

As there are enough of them in Germany by now anyway and ironically (my barber is one of them - always quick with the blade, I never mention Vienna), they could stay a while (thats what they do mostly - and their cousins, uncles, nephews, neighbors...).
So, maybe Vienna's gate was not fully closed perhaps last time. But now the Polish cavalry could keep their pimped cars then... ;)

Anyone going? I've been there before and am going this Saturday. It's a great recreation of the battle and 3000 or so knights participate. I will post some pics from it later. If you know any interesting details, post them. Here is one: The Germans call it the First Battle of Tannenberg. The first, because in 1914 the Germans gained a smashing victory over the Russians there. In 1934, von Hindenburg (Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg) was burried there(?!) and in 1945, when the German army was retreating, they took his remains with them and blew up his mausoleum. I hear from my participating friends that the battle is going to be fierce, but we are expected to win again. What happened to the two swords?

It's a recreaction; there are plenty of guys who want to be the Teutons. As`you know, we love German uniforms- for example, ones designed by Hugo Boss :) Mr Grunwald: I am going there aswell! I am going there today! :D See you there. I will be the one looking for grog and the wenches. lol When are we going to get a spelling feature on this board?

Your helmet has so many dents received on this board that it is unusable. lol Do allow us Poles to wallow in our glory on this one. the Teuton yields to come back again

This battle is very interesting. It is very intresting to see part of Polish history when Poland fought against Order of the Teutonic Knights of St. Mary's Hospital in Jerusalem - German Roman Catholic religious order which was openly supported by the Pope.

Sorry for not posting photos from the battle as I said I would. I didn't go this year(my German car failed, ok, it was just the battery), but my friends who went said the best battles were after the official battle. They had bruises to prove it. I'll post some pics from last year's battle tomorrow. The outcome was the same. Na topory, pawie czuby!

There is deal that besides foreign knights who chose on which side they want take part in performance. Knights from the Northern Poland dress up in Teuton uniforms and knights from the southern Poland dress up in Polish one durring this inscenization.
