Some say the biggest blunderer in the annals of Poland was Duke Conrad of Masovia who invited the Teutonic Knights of the Corss (Krzyżacy) to Poland to protect his lands against the invading Lithuanians and Jadvignians. The Teutons turned out to be not only the guest that came to dinner and stayed but actually took over. Jagiełło was the 2nd greatest blunderer by not finishing off the greatly weakened defeated Teutons after Grunwald. How do you think Poland would have developed without the proliferating Germanic tumour known as Ostrpreußen?
