The article infers the Red Army committed this act.

From reading this article I'd say the Soviets did it, pretty obvious - ehh comrade? ; ) I am curious, who do you think committed this act, the Poles? The Jews?! George W. Bush?!?!

"These people died in such an inhuman way, were dumped so inhumanely, that we need to bury them in dignity and respect," Szwedowski said.

Thank you

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_war_crimes

Soviet war crimes refer to alleged serious crimes committed by the Red Army's (1918-1946, later Soviet Army) leadership and members of the Soviet armed forces from 1919 to 1990, including those in Eastern Europe late in World War II, especially murder and rape. No international court or Soviet / Russian tribunal has ever charged any member of the Red Army with war crimes.

For sure? The only fact is obvious, that poland began WWII provoking Germany by the act of aggression against some local german radio station near the border and killing all its personal. Only this fact is sufficiently obvious. Certainly you will ask me how do I know that it is a truth? I read it in articles.

But I never thought that somebody could believe that such highly civilized country like Germany could begin this fierce war. No doubts it was poland, and article in Volkishe Beobahter directly points on poland!

Before the war? Surely:

According to medical historian Ezekiel Emanuel, it was the availability of anesthesia that ushered in the modern era of euthanasia. In 1828, the first known anti-euthanasia law in the United States was passed in the state of New York, with many other localities and states following suit over a period of several years.[13] After the Civil War, voluntary euthanasia was promoted by advocates, including some doctors.[14] Support peaked around the turn of the century in the U.S. and then grew again in the 1930s.

The first major effort to legalize euthanasia in the United States arose as part of the eugenics movement in the early years of the twentieth century. In an article in the Bulletin of the History of Medicine, Brown University historian Jacob M. Appel documented extensive political debate over legislation to legalize physician-assisted suicide in both Iowa and Ohio in 1906.[15] Appel indicates social activist Anna S. Hall was the driving force behind this movement.[15] In his book A Merciful End, Ian Dowbiggen has revealed the role that leading public figures, including Clarence Darrow and Jack London, played in advocating for the legalization of euthanasia....[16]

Guess why there's no info about mass graves of Russians (or Soviets)? No I don't claim us to complain about the past... Complaint is the lot of a feeble.

In America, there is an old saw that goes like, "... if it walks likes a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck - it's a duck." Now, I realize that America is not perfect and our history has some bad things in it like eminent domain with American Indians, the Civil War, racism, etc., but I can say with confidence and honesty the USA has not "purged" >50 million of our own people for the political gain of a tryannical leader du jour. Especially when those political systems continually seem to deny freedoms, control the masses with fear, and fail miserably. That being said, ConstantineK, are you really serious about the beginning of WW2?! If it is a joke, good one, you got me! If not, you are the model Soviet and Uncle Joe loves you... after killing your family for the better of the State, of course.

Here's another saw for you I read in an article, "... denial ain't a river in Egypt."

Kind of off topic, but Its so bad that they are building a luxury hotel right next to the stunning castle of Malbork. I pass through there all the time and it amazes me the amount of horrible ugly modern buildings they are throwing up next to one of the most spectacular and historical sites in all of Poland. Arent there any planning laws to protect these sites ? I think people in the future are going to regret some of these reckless acts in the persuit of short term profits.

Georgia is a non-factor in this conversation; this conversation is about events during WW2. FWIW - Georgia was nothing but another stomping ground for Uncle Joe.

You failed to provide an answer too, so please, do you really think the Poles started WW2 with the attack on the German radio station?

=)

The purges were organized by Stalin, he was georgian by birth and education, therefore russians have nothing with terror.

And certainly, I think that Poland began WWII along with mass killing at Katyn. They did it to accuse russians, because of polish permanent desire to be a victim or to look like one.

Even though Gorbachev presented Wałesa with the documents from the former USSR... including the infamous "March 5, 1940 Memorandum" with Beria's and Stalin's signature ordering the liquidation of the Poles {collectively Katyń}... ???

Even though the beginning of WW2 was well documented in Goebbel's diary...???

I understand national pride, but as a historian I am offended by your ignorance.

Maybe you will be lucky enough to have another Stalin in your nation - and maybe they'll attack and purge Georgia (which recently almost happened), as it is inhabitated by too many ignorant sheep incapable of analytical or critical thinking - then again, thinking is not the Communist way.
