100 Jewish cantors to sing in historic concert in Poland

It's at the National Opera so it's state and city funded. Tickets are given out to organizations, politicos, etc. That's what my wife says. It's a shame because couple years ago I was invited to listen to Sephardic cantors from Spain performing in the ball room of the King's Castle. They were accompanied by ancient musical instruments. Very cool indeed.

WARSAW (AFP)---One hundred Jewish cantors from around the globe will sing in an unprecedented concert in Warsaw next week, reviving the art of Jewish liturgical song virtually wiped out in Poland by the Holocaust, organisers said Thursday. Just called the Opera and they said it is a closed concert, not for the public. Figures, taxpayers get to pay for VIP's to enjoy. Bless their heart.

It would be good if this was only about music.:) I'm surprised you've heard about Jakub Berman's brother and Irena Sendler. I think it is only about music and common heritage.
