Dealing with constant insults against Polish

It's a same like dealing with constant insults against Americans, British etc. Why worry about it? lol.

My wife is Polish. My brother thought he would tell the joke...:"why don't Pollocks eat pickles?" We only waited for the answer..."they can't fit their head in the jar". My wife, confused replied,"Not true, we make jars with bigger openings." My embarrassed brother noo longer tells Pollock jokes. I learned from that day my very quick the mind can be. At our wedding reception, my wife called her Father to exspess her happiness. The guest were commenting aboout the way she sounded in very bad comments. I then asked everone if any one spoke Polish? All replied No. I then asked how it felt to be dumber than a Pollock? I earned great respect for our family on that day and it still continues.
I guess we just roll with the punches.

I'm 100 percent Polish. Both sets of my grandparents came to the United States. Unfortunately, both sets focused on learning the English language, so I never had the opportunity to learn Polish. My family did continue with a good deal of the Polish traditions and food though. But, I always felt somewhat "cheated" by not learning the language.

I grew up in Central Wisconsin and there were always Polish jokes. It never really bothered me as I was always proud of my heritage. I grew up around Polish people and they were some of the hardest workers and most generous people I've ever known, so the jokes just didn't affect me.

After college, I married someone of German heritage and moved to a suburb of Milwaukee that was mostly Irish and German. I so missed my Polish background. Fortunately, I was able to find a little country church with a Polish priest. I felt like I was home again. I attended the wedding of his nephew. His family came over from Poland and they all treated me as family. (Sadly, I never got the same reception from my spouse's family. They considered me an "outsider". His family could never accept me or my traditions. Everything had to be "their way" . Currently, my spouse has since filed for divorce. We were just two very different people.) The priest and I used to talk about Poland and it's people. When he retired, he gave me some of the books from his library. In one of them, he wrote..."Be always proud". I've never forgotten that.

I don't understand why so many people think the Polish are dumb. They are incredibly hard workers and generous to a fault. Maybe THAT is the problem. In any event, I hope they don't change. I love my Polish heritage. I have even started taking Polish language lessons!!!! So hard by the way!!!!! But, I am determined!!!!

Bratwurst Boy That is what they want you to think. I get tired of the guilt trips. Ashamed of being white, All white people's fault that they were slaves, (by the blacks). You killed our people by the American Indians. Chinese importers owning the place, selling inferior products to people who don't appreciate something made by hand in America. It's a mess here folks and Americans know it but just can't figure out what it is or what to do about it. God forbid they break a law and say no to something. The Media shows public officials being busted for corruption but these are always lower officials. I want to see a president do down and how about half of congress, maybe most of congress. Those lower officials facing prison are only something to appease the public. Something saying "See this can be done". Horse C**p they are putting on a show for us. Nothing goes unplanned.

My father spent his life defending this country against "enemies foreign and domestic". Only problem is the domestic ones are in control and people actually get destroyed physically, financially and emotionally for fighting for what they believe is right. The Media says, "Oh, these people deserved being shot, they were selling big guns", or "child molestation" , some sort of criminal thing which is a lie. The people of this country are defeated by their own government and I am just waiting for KARMA to take effect. There is an old saying in AA. A drunk has to hit the bottom of the barrel before he can begin to rise. Don't make fun of us.
Cheer us on, we need to hit bottom and get it over with.

Poles rule the trades in the USA.
They have the best reputation.
If you want something done right and on time, and honestly, you hire a Pole.

And don't forget, Polish Girls are better looking than German Girls.

But you did make one big mistake.
You married some German Guy instead of an Irish Catholic Guy:)

Oh well.
Maybe there will be another one.

I have one guy at work who keeps talking about the horseback tank-charging BS. It makes me kind of angry...but I laugh at the irony of how he calls Polish people stupid but he is really the stupid one.

I honestly have to say that the whole world has some beautiful ladies!

Miss Poland is outstanding! But like with everything else in life, generalizing can be dangerous. I like to take things on an individual basis.

Miss Germany is also beautiful, but in this case, my personal opinion is that Miss Poland has a better chance. In a different contest with different people, my opinion might be for Germany, or some other country.

This contest will be very hard to choose just one.

I am British (as far as I know).

I've only read a small ammount of this argument, and I am actually offended more by what the (correct me if I am wrong) adults are saying here.

You talk about the Polish people being great, and you speak like they are the best there is.

You should talk about Every country, nobody is perfect. It seems the hunters are becoming the hunted.

I myself am only 15, having a few Polish people in my school, I get insults, hand gestures and all sorts, I don't retaliate, as you all seem to be doing.

You make it sound like drugs. As for insults, those who are secure and have a positive pride about themselves tend not to resort to them.
