Disappointment in Putin

I was so disappointed to hear about Putin appeasing the Poles today. What happened to the hard liner who took a zero tolerance stance ith the checynian rebels? Why all of a sudden is he appeasing the Poles after his fury over the missile shield? Has he forgotten?

He is likely trying to take advantage of the strained political situation between Poland and the U.S at the moment to gain ties with Warsaw.

Tactics tactics tactics, that's the name of the game. He also blamed Poland for siding with the Nazis. Even Piłsudki laughed Germany off, considering them to be a latent threat at worst. How wrong people were.

I always respected this man for his toughness but to be honest over the past few days he came across as a pathetic kiss ass, could his tongue be any browner? Russia does not have to appaease anyone, least of all the Poles. The biggest apology Russia could give has already been given, the rebuilding of the Poland esp. the palace of culture etc.

I came to conclusion that Poland should have more economical ties with East then the West that way Poland can grow in faster pace.

Putin is tough, never think otherwise. He has to show sensitivity and maturity. Having seen cemeteries with needless Polish deaths, I see why he has heart but that's not softness, that's humanity!!

Poland would become a supplier to east that would lead to creating industry and jobs if you have job people have income to spend then the economy is growing more goods are sold more taxes are collected the government has more money to spend on social programs, otherwise you getting hand out from EU that money is gone and you back to before

Fair enough point, Marek. Poland has an interest in staying in bed with Russia due to the gas they supply. Play the game and Putin prolly won't screw you over.

If Putin will be more nice like that I may change my opinion of him! Wasn't there a tolerant Tsar once? Poor guy had to feel Polish independence notions :P How USA and rest of western Europe treats Poland is... outrageous! (Except Germany they somehow don't ignore Poland!)

Health care, education, unemployment, low-income support (welfare), seniors (Old Age Security), aboriginal peoples - those are examples of social programs. Roads, army, police are not. Putin loving the Poles? Is this a joke? Surely, he doesn't hate them, but he doesn't consider Poland a true ally to Russia. The missile defense crises is only the beginning. You have Gazprom, the various negative comments he has made about Poles, the purging of Polish immigrants in Russia twice to send back any that had visa issues or were there illegally.
