How often Eastern/Central European countries have been given as an example for following by third country? Here you can find an article in the Economist about current Polish-Ukrainian relations titled "Wreath by wreath". The beauty of that positive article - it is all reality! :-)

That's a good article and well worth reading.

Although I did chuckle a bit when I read "nor does either [Poland or Ukraine] insist on seeing their own soldiers as untainted heroes." Clearly the writer doesn't read this forum!

Meh, this forum is based in Chicago, and the number of sane posters that I've seen here is less than I have fingers. I think it's fair to say that it shouldn't count.
Though, before Crow gets his hopes up, I still don't see the Polish-Russian alliance happening.
Ah, who am I kidding, he's not listening anyway.

IMHO the Economist described quite clear picture of possible cooperation with respect of each other's view on the same subjects. Did you read the article, Ironside?

Well, This is only part of the picture, As long as Polish government don't call for account Ukrainian side over those controversial issues - there some degree of co-operation.
I wouldn't overestimate it though.

Yes, Polish and Ukrainian governments don't call to be accountable each other and respect rights to have its own point of view to the same issues - this is the secret and beauty of the moment. The same time Russian authorities pushing hard on Ukrainians to recognize their Moscow view. That's why the Economist wont write the same positive story about Ukrainian-Russian relations still for a while ...

point is this cannot last for ever, there some issues that have to be faced by Ukrainian government sooner or later.
And then what?
End of the great relationship?

Poland and Ukraine do not insist, some Poles and some Ukrainians do :-) Good thing is that there is no border issue anymore. History sooner or later will stay within universities walls.
