However, the number of Jews perished there can safely established at a million, while indeed the number of Poles is higher at 150.000, but the documentary mentions explicitely 21.000 Polish political prisoners, not the average Piotr. I do agree that it's a lot ppl for one place, but then again, Auschwitz was unique in so many ways :( Edit: I still remember Joepilsudski's statement that the most probable number of Jewish deaths in Auschwitz lay around 47.000. MareGaea: So you're not truly a Pole then. Where did they live before 1463? Sokrates' roots go way back. Before they moved to friendly Poland from unfriendly Spain, they were merchants in the Levant. A fascinating story.

Oh, why can't we all just get along?...Anyway, on Polish Forum you have some interesting chat...Poles can tell Jews 'what's up' and the Jews can respond...You won't see this on YNet...If a Pole went to YNet and responded to some Jewish escapade with, say, a comment like 'You shysters are pushing too far!', it would be censored...Here, there is little 'direct censorship'...You can even call Joe a dog and get away with it...I don't mind anyway...I have been posting here for over two years, and everyone has their role to play...

Exactly, Joe. I may be accused of sitting on the fence at times but I see that discussion teases out exceptions to almost any position. We know that Poles should be offended by young Jews doing that but we can also say that they are in the minority and that the police can do their job in enforcing the law. People will do as people will do, we just have to do the best we can with that.
