Missile Base, Obama to trade for Russian pressure on Iran?

Some sources indicate that Obama might trade the missile shield in return for Russia putting pressure on Iran to curb its nuclear activities.

Poland is going straight in to Russian hands. Nord Stream ... now Russia has the right to tell what can be build in Poland what can not be build in Poland.

Welcome back in Russian sphere of influence.


In my opinion Poland should develop other energy resources and use old Finish example when it is needed:

At first glance this looks like a win/win situation for Russia.
They get the missile shield removed and they also get their status in the Middle East further enhanced.

As for Obama, he avoids a costly excercise which serves no real purpose ( missile shield ) and this paves a way for dialogue with Iran without the nuclear programme causing tension.
Short term loss of face for long term benefit.

I just wonder what the Russians will offer the Iranians to make this look attractive to them.

This would be a lesson for Polish politicians. On other hand this would push Poland more towards Brussels.

However Americans would lose status of reliable partner not only in Poland. If they cannot run stable long time foreign policy...

In my opinion Poland should work on closer ties with Scandinavian countries and support one of main continental european powers.

If Nord Stream will become true or europe in general will be dependent from Russian gas supplies ... Poland (and propably big part of europe) is going to have kind of Finlandisation I've mentioned before.

Obama doesn't want to divert resources from the handouts he wants to give to his lazy friends. That huge “stimulus” scheme that just passed only included crumbs for military expenditures, which will hardly make up for the cuts he has planned. Libs are all about domestic policy and everything else, even national security issues, is second thought to them. The only time Libs think outside of our borders is when they get to fantasizing about joining us into a One World government. Dangerous time to have an anti-military Lib in office. Watch as he tries to "talk" with Iran.

Here’s a story about how the Obama administration won’t shoot down the North Korean missile. The accompanying headline is misleading... Notice how Gates says that we could if we had to or of we wanted to, we’re just not going to. They want to talk some more instead. Obama likely wouldn’t utilize a missile shield in Poland either.

All Russia needs to do is to ostensibly show that they are squeezing Iran a little. This isn't so hard. It was all a tactical maneuver anyway. Iran is just a game for America.

situation is humiliating for both- Poland and Russia. Russia should refuse to trade over Polish interests no matter that Poland currently belong to NATO pact

its not logical. Poland is in alliance with mujas on Kosovo-Metohija... so why would mujas hijacked Polish contribution to NATO
