Poland population growth in 2009 is expected to be -0.047%. What's the deal with that?

Shawn_H   Mar 26, 09, 18:16 /  #
Perhaps Polish statisticians expect more people to either leave Poland or die than will be born in or emigrate to Poland?

I still say breeding isn't the answer to the problems....The populations HAVE to shrink,
as the Earth can't nourish all the people which are already there!

The populations HAVE to shrink,

This will naturally take place in the areas which need it the most...

Europe does not need it though.. it just needs to stay stable.

Alternatively we could just allow more immigration. It's not as if there is a shortage of people who want to live in Poland.

Mass immigration of arabs, blacks, asians?
No thank you. I see what is happening in France and elsewhere. Last thing Poland needs is thousands more unemployed, seeking welfare cheques and trying to marry Polish women.

Population exchange isn't the answer!

Only when the third world learns to take care of themselves and their children...once they care for their fewer children instead of mass breeding in the hope one or two of the bunch will survive only then they can get started to change their sorry holes so that they won't any longer want to invade into other peoples countries...

So the problems lie in the countries where the non-european immigrants come from and have to be solved there too.
Letting them "steam it off" and invite them just helps those who want to keep those countries down...

Sorry but I'm against to much non-european immigration into Europe!

Cut that crap Sokrates!

Shrinking populations will be a sign of a high class society in the bigger frame of things the same way as higher class families have usually fewer kids than underclass families and they are also much better cared for.
That's the way for all societies (and families) when they want to develop positively...
Our environment and our resources has limits!

That has nothing to do with "dying out"!

PS: Before a 80+ Mill people dies out we will see the end of a 38 Mill people, believe me!

Statistics show between 12 and 18 milion decrease for Germany by 2060.

Yes and no, reasons for Polish decrease are due to economic shortages whereas reasons for German decrease are due to overall wealth, couples in Germany no longer wish to burden themselves with kids, you guys have no family structure anymore.

"Economic shortages" aren't a reason for fewer kids Socrates or the third world would had died out already...
The contrary is true...the more sophisticated and developed a country becomes the more family planning takes over and the more people decide for one, two or no kids at all instead of blind breeding.

The more Poland catches up to the standards of the west the more you will see the same developments too..
And I see nothing bad with it when the societies adapt to it.

The difference between third world and Poland is that Poland is a developing country with first world aka old Europe culture and expectations which means apart from deep province people will not fuck like rabbits.

You're using a western template towards a central Europe country, we've got much in common but in truth we're a different world, western development patterns dont really hold much truth here.

In Poland there is a strong "polish-mother" sentiment, women actually enjoy having and caring for family, economy is the thing that impairs certain millenia old drives, in Germany its indeed evolution but in Poland the same thing is more of holding back.

You cant expect a country that follows completely different social rules to develop the same way as the rest of Old Europe.

It's a society phenomenon Socrates...Poland is still backward and religious dominated.
That will change!
Give women the same possibilities (which they will undoubtly get the more Poland develops), take away the "churchly" stigmata of family planning and the more women will decide for themselves.
The more options families get the more will take them, believe me.

Poland and the Poles are no different to other Europeans! :)
Just look into the social histories of other european countries...they were in the same
situation as you are and they changed with time and development.

I'm talking about women across the board, not some backwater uneducated geese but educated women from big cities.

The interesting bit is that it has nothing to do with churchly encouragement, women here draw genuine satisfaction from family, like i said we're two different worlds.

All Europeans are different, why do you think countries go through history differently? Because the people that live in them are different perhaps?

I dare say not a single European country was in the same situation, we're stuck with first world culture and third world economy due to our quirky history, not to mention we're Slavs, heavily westernized but Slavs and there are differences to ethnicities.

Well, most of our women do to! :)

Women are not so different when they have the same options and chances, Sokrates.
You will see...

According to the U.N. statistics the Polish population isn't decreasing or increasing. I think this is perfect. Poland's popualtion seems to be at a good rate now. Besides Poland has few mortalities in birth. With good hospitals (compared to other places), good birth ethics (common for one, two or mostly three children, and not more like in other areas), and more responsiblities with sex (they don't tend to have as many accidents).

I use the U.N. Much more accurate, they update their stuff every year, CIA can become outdated for some sources.

Sokrates I have quite a contrary experience. Your statement is an invalid extrapolation :-) Well, everybody do that sometimes :-)

Anyway growth rate is a problem. Imigration is not an answer, at least not in the western europe style. There is quite not funny joke in Poland that in 2100 Poland will border on China... So, maybe in 2150 China will border on (T)Gurkey... Poland population growth problems is nothing in comparision with Ukraine or Russia...
