The Polish political scene was seriously rocked by the address to the nation delivered by Russian president Vladimir Putin. In no certain terms the Russian head of state spoke about the threats, he sees in the installment of the anti missile shields on Polish and Czech territories and Russia's possible counter reactions.

The Thursday conference of Vladimir Putin contained some serious threats directed against the west. The Russian head of state did not exclude the possibility of aiming missiles at Eastern Europe if the US and NATO build military bases there. Vladimir Putin said that the installment of such shields is against democracy and acused United States of acting unilaterally in imposing its plans for a missile defence system in Poland and the Czech Republic.

This is true, I think he was just trying to stir up trouble in Poland. Poland vs. Citizens that may still fear Kremlin threats. Hey it worked in Ukraine, he threatened them and they backed off going into NATO.

I honestly believe that somehow he convinced himself that Poland is still a Soviet satelite sountry...something's not right with this man. Great leader for the Russian people IMHO, but not so great when it comes to thinking clearly about the foreign agenda.

This is nothing new. Missiles were always pointed at Poland or Eastern Europe at any given time.

I think he is teaching Russian they can behave like this in a civilized society. I posted another artical in here today that speaks to the rudeness of Russian people. I am glad when I go into the stores here in the USA the people I deal with are very nice, the artical states that in Russia they are rude. I would go nuts living around snobby people that act that way. 1498-1499 on Poland Russian Relations

They can't all be rude. Some of them are very nice and exactly like us Poles. I know that the Meroshnik family is. (well the Meroshniks I know) You just never really know. Some people are just born with a hatred toward certain individuals, like racists, but w/e.

You gays are funny with all "baby"talk, calling Putin "little" man and so . He can do on the Russian territory whatever he wants. To much pride on your part - you want to think it's a threat, because it makes you fill important.

It was a threat so we don't have to think it is. Why would it make anyone feel important?

Another U.S. Missile Defense Facility Considered for Europe

February 13, 2008 - 10:37am

WASHINGTON - The U.S. is considering the addition of a mobile radar component to the missile defense system in Europe, Defense News reports. The radar would be "mobile and transportable," allowing it to be set up "closer to Iran" than the permanent radar that is already planned for installation in the Czech Republic, said Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry Obering, director of the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency. The "forward-based" radar system might be installed in southeastern Europe, possibly in Turkey, the Caucasus or the Caspian Sea region, Obering told a defense-technology conference.

So if we aim nukes at Russia, you won't consider it a threat?

Some people just can not think outside of box, following the stereotypes that global media installing in your brain year after year. And everybody just repeat "threats, threats, threats".
From English dictionary :"threat - declaration of intent to cause harm".
Putin said:"We have no intent of targeting anyone unless we absolutely have to".
"Our experts consider that this system threatens our national security and if it appears, we will be obligated to adequately react to this".
"We are WARNING people ahead of time: if you take this step, then we will make this step".
Where do you see threats in that? He is giving you warning, an information ahead of time , what Russia is going to do in respond.
From English dictionary: "warning - advice to be careful."
By the way, did Polish or Czechs have national referendum to decided if they want those systems on their land and all the consequences that will follow?

Exactly.

In fact everyone knows, that Russia has always aimed its rockets at other countries, just didnt say so. Nobody was feeling a need for a antimissile system then...

Do I sense a wee bit of negitivity in your question? I will tell you again, "I believe, EU decided that in the best intreast of the people, lets get it." This being the case you seem to be asking a question just like Pres. Putin did. Do you by chance work for him, or maybe you just want the Polish people to fight between themselves over this? Don't worry the Polish people are intelligent and the anti missile shield will help ease the constant threats directed towards them from a close country, that by the way just told Tusk, we respect your right as an independent country to make this decission. This was on the 8th of the month.

Do I sense a wee bit or sarcasm in your respond? Sarcasm is always good. Do you consider anybody with different opinion working for Putin? Polish people are free to have they own thoughts about any problem. And yes, you are right, they are intelligent enough to do so. Less stereotypes.

Why is it important to your? I am from 3 countries at once.

As for your initial question "Will Poland stick to plans for"Antimissile shield" under new threats?" - yes, Poland will stick to those plans. Foresee your next question - everybody else involved in this, will stick to their plans as well. Relax, nothing is going to happen.
