Does Poland still have soldiers in Iraq?

I met a couple guys who were going AWOL on an AMTRAK train a couple years ago who hated life in the Army, but a bunch of guys I know love it, too. I might see for myself when I finish college, since I'm considering joining the Army if I can enter as an officer or at least get some sort of benefit for having completed my degree.

Does it? I am thinking there was talk of withdrawing them last x-mas but not sure what ever came of it.

I am not completely sure but i thought that there was talk of them staying in Iraq untill at least the end of 07

Of course there are still Polish soldiers in Iraq. I think all of them will be back home by the end of 2008 (or after a new president of the US is elected).

Polish soldiers attack Iraq. It's like watching a good movie (the bad thing is that people die though): In the background you may hear a Polish curse word ("kurwa" = "f.uck").

I am sure Polish soldiers are still in Iraq. I have right now a friend in Afghanistan and he is working with some Polish soldiers in some kind of NATO outfit they have there. So if there in Afghanistan I'm sure they're in Iraq too.

The point is that the soldiers are well paid to be in Iraq. I think they don't take those who really don't want to go there, do they?

another question,which taxpayers are footing the bill for Polish soldiers to be in iraq/afganistan? Polish or American? Just curious as I heard the USA was footing the bill unlike for the British forces, we're lumbered with paying for when no one wants them out there anymore/ever.

Yeah they have a problem with volunteers, there has been some talk of restarting a draft. Would you want to join the army so you can go live in sunny friendly Iraq for 15 months at a time, meanwhile your girlfriend or wife leaves you or cheats on you because they can't be alone for that long, only to come home, if you make it home, for one year before you get to do it all over again, and your lucky if you get a year back home before you go back to the desert again.

I might see for myself when I finish college, since I'm considering joining the Army if I can enter as an officer or at least get some sort of benefit for having completed my degree. its pretty much lower enlisted that want to get out. if you come in as an E-1 and make SGT before your contract is up then you're probably into it anyways and will reenlist, and i haven't heard to many officers complain and say they want to get out. i hear them complain about the stupid sh!t, especially at schools. all i know is its not for me. i'll be happy if i can get a job i actually like and have time to play music at the bar scenes :D

Poland still has around 900 service personnel based around the area south of Baghdad. 21 have been killed so far.

WARSAW, Poland (AP) - Poland could pull its troops out of Iraq in summer 2008, the new defense minister said in remarks published Tuesday. guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-7107027,00.html sounds like possibly good news for RP; probably won't make Washington all too happy though.
