POLAND'S POPULATION IS SHRINKING...

The birth-rate in Poland is falling and is now one of the lowest in the world. According to the Mundi Index, out of 221 countries worldwide looked at, Poland had the 193rd lowest number of births, with just 10 per 1000 persons in the population. That’s within the fifth lowest birth rate in Europe. The population is falling and protections estimate that there will be four million Poles fewer than today in 2030.
Why do you think this is the case? Is this a favourable or unfavourable development for Poland?

Yes, and the death rate is increasing as well. people are living shorter lives in Poland and more and more of the young are leaving. There is no future in Poland and never has been. Poland has always been a net contributor of other people's populations! Just look at Chicago-its full of the Polish buggers!!

Forget about global warming and all the other problems - the exploding population growth and demand for resources will kill Earth (and us all). So, it might be unfavourable for Poland, Germany and many other nations with declining populations, but for the planet it's a good development. We have to start somewhere.

Maybe Poland can import Mexicans - there are plenty everywhere in the U.S.

Zimmy, that might be what Europe ends up doing, just like the US has done, to make up for population deficits. They encourage mass immigration to even out the numbers.

One of the big reasons for the falling birthrate is that young women are afraid they won't be able to find (or keep) a good job if they have kids. This was less a concern in communist times when having kids was not an issue in terms of employment but in the current system it's changing a lot of behaviors, especially since very few men in Poland make enough money to support non-income-generating wife and kids.

falling birthrate is that young women

There are no young women. They are all busy having abortions in the UK and elsewhere in Europe.

Which just goes to show that it's about options and not principles. How can there be so many mistakes that they want an abortion? Abortions should be costly to serve as a deterrent.

I think it's due to the fact that having late children is becoming trendy nowadays. More and more young couples choose a free lifestyle over responsibility and attachment.

Spot on, frd. There is social pressure to marry but the kids can come later, after the holidays and job hopping.

However the above-cited link says life expectancy is growing in Poland. Perhaps a decline in drinking and smoking may have something to do with it.

Who wants children during so unstable times ? Unemployment is looming upon more and more families, so having and proper raising a child or children under such circumstances would be a burden their parents could be unable to bear. And combined absurd properties prices and pathetic salaries force many young couples to stay with their parents for longer that they want.

Well there are some lunatics who do actually. ;) At my work there are at least 6 people that are expecting children this year.

I think on the whole, that Bartolome, frd an mafetkis are right, however judging by the numbers of pregnant women looming the streets of Poland these days I expect this year to be a record-breaking one. It's probably a demographic echo of the early 80’s baby boom.

Another problem is polish women marrying third wordlers in London thus reducing the available gene pool.

You have to send some pretty Serbian women in to encourage procreation, Crow. In this way, a greater connection will be developed :) In turn, some Polish women could help out Serbian men in the future :)

Doesn't stop all those Africans allegedly living on a dollar a day though, does it?

Yes,probably.Of course polish women are always willing to embrace fellow slavic nations but Serbs seem a bit intimidating, frightening on the outside.

without Slavic Alliance, Slavs don`t have chance to survive and preserve their resources for themselves.

Sarmatia Europae is minumum. Poles should think about it seriously. I urge on Poles to think

In most countries to encourage population growth incentives are given to couple who make babies pretty much. Does Poland not give out incentives for couple to have children? Poland is a big enough country to support 50 million I don't know if their economy can support it though.

I have seen some exciting specimens by slavic interbreeding like women with ukrainian-belarus-russian origin, with polish-lithuanian-ukrainian or czech-slovak-hungarian origin and the results were always exotic.I suppose a serbian-polish mix would lead to phenomenal women.

They've been living that way for centuries, if not for thousands of year. And we're Europeans, not Africans. Besides why do you think there's such big exodus from Africa ?
