Imagine a country manufacturing just what they need and concentrating on their own people?

I remember in the days leading up to the war how anyone who objected or wondered how successful it would be had their patriotism questioned or their intelligence.

"The war will have to last a long time....." The reply, "Oh, no...you're crazy......shock and awe!" Such a shame.

What percentage of the recession was caused solely by the Iraq war?

I had no idea Iraq war caused the recession.
Were all those bankrupt homeowners and idiotic bankers somehow involved in that war?

its more then just the war.. outsourcing jobs, CEOS getting large sign on bonus for doing squat, Big OIL, tax breaks on corporate and we were paying out of our arse all along to give them free and clear money..

misuse of funds for the big three, Aig, private jets, ( MINE INCLUDED) I should have known better.. * grin*

its funny how power gets abused..big promises, and they say, hey we are lookin out for you.. but its really a line they are all programmed to say..

whats really sad, people are not shopping because they are afraid that the market will crash ..

All I am saying is that if the US government was taking care of business at home rather than concentrating on what the rest of the world is doing , maybe the conomy would be better today and also just think of all the billions that would be in the bank. We bailed out AIG because China was heavily supporting it with loans. China owns a huge partof our debt. All this would be different without the war. No debt would change the whole economy.

The government could regulate the banking system better but they cant do much about people being cavalier with their own finances. People bought alot of stuff they couldnt afford. They now have to pay it back and they cant.
I hate these idiots I see on the news each day complaining that they're paying back double the original amount on a high interest loan they they took out to buy some **** they didnt need. They seem to get a year into the payments before they actually sit down and work out what they're paying- surely this is what you do before you arrange the loan not after!?

Blame the banks soley for ever giving loans to people that could not afford them. So many people living in huge homes that can not afford. I am restoring my own home and burning wood while others are living like kings.

Surely the person who took the loan has some responsibility as its them that has the responsibility to pay it back?

Little kid bright eyed in the candy store with the loan officers dangling all that in front of them. of course there is some lack of intellect here. And just think of the important jobs these people have.

I thought we were fighting for israel and oil. and to throw endless money into the destruction of the one last secular arab nation in the mid-east, the only one with a christian vice president even. So we could cry about the taliban in afghanistan and make ready their way in Iraq.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8407274.stm, here's the main reason. Those grubby bastards just can't get enough, can they? It's sickening what's happening there. Iraqi companies should be set up and trained how to maximise THEIR natural resources and not let foreign companies in to cream the profits.

I know what such people are like, my home city is the oil&gas capital of Europe and I'd happily beat such people with the nearest baseball bat.

So from the above link -
$1.40 a barrel of oil extracted from the field, and projected output would reach 535,000 barrels per day.

Half a million bucks a day for France and China with the other $69 a barrell going to pay Halliburton.......keep on rockin in the free world.............keep on rockin in ........

Shell, the Dutch giants, will also benefit to a very handsome tune. Halliburton, those snakes. I'm sure KBR will be in there too. Saddam, the man that America armed, will be rolling in his grave!

Exxon was recently awarded a contract for Iraqi oil...I don't know what the terms or percentages were...Maybe someone can look it up...The curious thing is that US oil companies could have had various contracts in Iraq, but their was a 10 year embargo after Gulf War I...I have my own views about what the Iraq war was really about, but I know this: Russia and France both had big oil development contracts with Iraq, and the US and other parties didn't appreciate this.

I haven't heard anything about Royal Dutch Shell...That belongs to the Rothschilds and the Royal House in the Netherlands...The Rothschilds have acquired rights to the proposed pipeline through Afghanistan...They are using an Israeli consortium as a 'junior' partner...That's why the US/NATO are there, and for the dope, too.

Poland looks to Russia more for gas so won't be unduly perturbed about EU and US companies getting oil contracts. Poland, like any other, is happy if they get what they need.
