POLES the BLACKS of EUROPE?

Hi everyone, New on this forum and I'm a resident of U.S.A. since age 9.

I see lots of blacks since I live in Brooklyn and I'm talking about the poor, ghetto hip-hop culture.

I was wondering if anyone believes there is a connection between blacks and how they are in the usa in financial terms and how Pols live in Europe ?
and culture wise ?

I'll give you an answer, adrian. Our british friends on here don't like these racial topics.

I don't see any connection. You see unemployment, crime and school drop out rates are quite high in the neighbourhoods your talking about. Poles however, tend to work even if it means that have to perform menial jobs. The vast majority of poles that leave poland for w. european countries do so in order to work not go on welfare/unemployment (though i'm sure a small minority do this - there are bad lemons in all countries after all). The situation in the US/canada is similar. Take chicago for example, which has a huge polish population. These poles work/go to school and i've yet to hear about problems regarding widespread crime/unemployment among the polish population.

It's a matter of liking their complexion. They have a different skin type from people here. They do churn out many pretty faces but the Poles have the edge on them I'd say.

They may be more humble and modest than Polish women. In fact, bank on it!!

sorry to interupt your conversation but i know a polish gangster well he thinks he is a gangster anyway. Hes my friends boyfriend and he wears tracksuits but they have to be black and have to be a good make such as nike of henleys etc he walks like a gangster with a little bounce in his step. If you looked at him oyu wouldnt think he was polish he has out accent too. Anyway bye x

My answer is no, too. Poles just need to get out of this 'we're poor' mentality. There are many here who know a thing or 2 about generating wealth. There's a lot of settling for less here. Poland is still relatively new to capitalism. Some have gone OTT and embraced it the full hog.

I do concede that there needs to be a greater incentive-based system for people to pursue careers here.

Prince, if it is indeed Łukasz (I'm not sure), posted some fantastic links about potential 'buzz industries'. In certain key areas, Poland has the potential to be a frontrunner in the long term. The govt needs to tap into these skills and create more work experience programs domestically so vital people don't go overseas to take up internships.

It depends on the sector really. If the policy was really so visible, there would've been more discussion of its triumphs.

As Greg said, Tusk has done nothing of real note. Wages have gone up but for who?

Well I do not think it works exactly like that.
Wages have gone up the last few years because of the shortage of labour and to keep employees, who might have otherwise left to another country in the search for a higher paying job.

Its not all about the money though is it ?? Don't polish people come to countries such as England or USA for their education ??

That's a more accurate assessment of what takes place. There may be a skills shortage but Poland is lucky in that it has many up and coming youngsters who will fill positions. Demographics show that it's not a classic ageing population, unlike some Asian countries.

The Poles hold their education system in high regard. The percentage who go abroad to study is not that high. Some value prestige and target quality uni's abroad. It's more for work tho. When they are taught the harsh reality that their hard graft at Uni doesn't translate into gainful employment, they seek pastures new.

As far as I know no, the majority do not go abroad for education.
I think Polish education is adequate and most leave for the money.
Although Polish people love to travel for pleasure too.

All the polish people i know, ok i know about 4, but they are all very smart and are very dedicated to their education and their jobs. M friends boyfriend is that smart he has been told to apply for Oxford university even though he is not doing A levels, i wish i was that dedicated and smart. But i dont think i would want to go to another country for my education i dont know why i just couldnt imagine myself doing what the polish do like moving away from their familys for money and education

There was a program about the Japanese population getting older and older. When I was there, it was staggering how many old fogies there were. Now, apparently, there are more. It has been noted as a problem.

there must be a choice?? maybe im narrow minded but i would do anything not to leave my family and friends to move to another country and start everything again. Maybe to some people thats exciting but to me its scary

Again I think a majority of people feel the same as you.
I think there is only a small minority of people in a population that would leave their country, family and friends and start everything again fo excitement.
I left for a few reasons, also excitement.
