Pakistani Taliban militants released a graphic video Sunday showing the beheading of a Polish engineer whom they said was killed because Islamabad refused to free detained insurgents.

These are but words, Greg. Check to see nomullas.com, this will show you just how barbaric that ritual is. I hope they had the decency to anaesthetise him but I doubt it. I posted one on the war thread, very graphic and highly disturbing.

Stanczak, RIP. This may bolster efforts to track down those responsible. They need to die.

I just wish i could get all these brave beheaders together in one place...i could happily shoot the lot of them and still sleep at night.....its a horrible way to die the way these animals do this , and my thoughts are with the Polish guys family....In case anyone thinks these beheadings are a swift way to die they should see the many video,s posted on the net...it actually consists of the head being slowly severed while the victim is fully awake using a small and not so sharp knife....

True. The thing is, we are too civilised to stoop to reciprocity. Some American capital punishment wouldn't be so bad.

Have you seen the coverage on onet.pl, Greg? It's not bad. Apparently, those savages want money to return the remains of his body.

They give Islam a bad name by shouting Allah Akbar all the time. They are radicals and not true Muslims.

It's time to bomb them into the middle of next week. To hell with what Pakistan says. Carpet bombing on the scale of what happened in Serbia, that's what's needed and more.

LOL, I think cluster bombs are illegal. Which is all the more reason to use them against these barbaric morons.

Seriously, we need to start getting very serious. AQ are reportedly getting stronger. This war will likely go on indefinitely.

I did tatami bombing in Japan. Smoke bombs to get rid of the wee beasties in the straw.

The sad fact is that its almost impossible to defeat such terrorists in a war..the only way to stop it is to remove the need for the terrorists to do what they do..or get them to the stage where they see their actions are not getting them anywhere....We are a long way from both i think....

By reciprocity, I meant specifically beheading them back, to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Bombings characterised the 2001/2 response in Afghanistan. These people need to be bombed again. Having watched OBL, I'm surprised he can condone such things. He seems like a mild-mannered and thoughtful guy. He is just furious about being cheated and the Palestinians being displaced to the wind.

It's time to realise that while the US and UK governments think they are one step ahead of the Taliban and Al Qaeda actually the opposite is true. The Western governments are fond of broadcasting when they foil a plan but when do they ever actually make any positive steps in finishing the Taliban or Al Qaeda? They don't.

The Taliban and Al Qaeda will always be beheading people or blowing them up and sadly, there is not a damn thing the western governments can do about it. Even if they did manage to catch Osama Bin Laden (for example) what does that do to Al Qaeda? Not a thing, because there is always someone else to step into his shoes and so many cells all over the world. It's never-ending.

So now another innocent life is lost. The west kills some Taliban or imprisons them and rightly so but then the west is hurt again with yet another innocent dying. We kill their guilty so they kill our innocent.

Spot on commentary, Misty. I don't believe Bhenazir Bhutto when she said OBL was killed by Omar Sheikh. Why would he do that? It really doesn't matter. It's just a cruel joke. OBL believes that a harsh injustice has been served and that the West has run roughshod over Arabs. He has a point.

Are you? I'm a ex soldier and I've heard different. You left Iraq at a critical time. Your public has been extremely critical of the whole thing since the onset. Who can count on you? As you always say, "hey it doesn't effect us". Well leave the whole thing. Nobody will shed tears.

It seems though, that that Polish engineer ended up on the 'front-line'. I hope he can rest in peace and that his killers receive something approaching the punishment they deserve.

Maybe we realised that Iraq, when its democratic government was put in place, should regulate the matter.

actually still in iraq. who would fill the void if the british pulled out of helmand, which is where the heaviest fighting is?
