What is really sad here is that one of the reasons for releasing this press statement is a desperate attempt by the University to gain funding from the Government as they have serious financial problems at the moment. The other reason is that there is an industrial dispute at the University at the moment where they want to privatise all the cleaning services and this press release is meant as a smoke screen.

They stand no chance of developing this project and all credit will go to an American University who have unlimited funding and will finalise the project within two years.

What a shame because this University has developed many innovative projects over the last five years, one being the fly-by-wire technology that was funded as part of the agreement to purchase the F-16 fighters from the US. They developed the most advanced systems in the world for these fighters and then the US reneged on the agreement and withdrew the funding, leaving the Polish F-16 fighters with substandard systems that are miles behind their US counterparts. Just another example of Poland taking it up the dupa from the US.

I recently read about this innovation in a Warsaw Business Journal article, referring to this previously mentioned project in Polish Market Online. It seems like the 'idea' has become a 'reality'. Sounds really big. Now, can someone please tell me, if this is in fact a real discovery, then how come it hasn't made international headlines yet? I searched all over the place on 'Google', and still came up with nothing.

Because the discovery wasn't made where all discoveries are made - US of A :) Btw. Americans have been working on this technology too, but Professor Nazimek's team got there first. Seriously though, it will take some more research and testing before the discovery. If it flies than we'll be seeing major changes not only at the gas stations but in the entire geopolitics. After all we don't need as much oil to produce plastics as to power our vehicles. If their method was applied on a commercial scale, it could allow the production of methanol at 3 cents per liter (or US$0.11 per gallon) source.

Where I live they talked us into saving water so we can save the environment and our hard earned dollar. Most decided water they lawns less frequently, some bought rain barrels Now the city is telling us there will be a $175/year surcharge because the water/sewer facilities do not get enough money from users :)
