(WARSAW) - Around 200 Chechen and Georgian asylum-seekers have been stranded in a train on Poland's border with Germany after a failed attempt to head westwards in a human rights protest, authorities said Tuesday.

The group had been aiming to reach the eastern French city of Strasbourg, home of the Council of Europe, the continent's rights watchdog, Poland's border service said.

"They can't cross the border because they don't have the necessary paperwork," border service spokeswoman Anna Galon told AFP.

After being denied permission to cross, they refused to leave the train, which had been bound for Dresden in eastern Germany.

As a result, the train remained stuck in the Polish city of Zgorzelec, which lies just across a river from its German counterpart, Goerlitz.

"Talks with them are under way," said Galon.

She explained that under the terms of their asylum applications, the group members, who included women and children, were bound to remain on Polish soil.

According to border guards, the protestors are unhappy with conditions in Poland's refugee hostels and lengthy asylum application procedures.

Polish media reported that they did not have tickets for their trip.

Well - as long as asylum seekers are trying to escape Poland using hijacked train, there is no worries about massive immigration problem in our lovely country.
I am just wondering where they are heading? Maybe to the UK - promised land?

^Our? You abandoned this land mate. Those asylum seekers have more right to it than you do: at least they actually want to live here, unlike you.

That's why they all boarded a train heading West.

You missed the point (as usual). lol.

They don't want to live in Poland. They are trying to escape to the Germany on hijacked train.

And you honestly believe they would come back once in the Promised Land?
I didn't know that wellbeing of Muslims is so important for you. That is good. I misjudge you.
My advise - go to your native country and try to help these Palestinians. Why do you waste your time in Poland?
