Serbia - balanced strategic point of Polish-Russian interests?

and

Poland and Russia beggins to coordinate on Slavic south, arround Serbian question?

Let me remind auditorium of Polishforums about interesting trend in Polish stance on Serbia. Did you notice that `Serbian question` represent one of rare important strategic situations where Polish interests stays in balance with Russian interests. Survivor of Serbia and Serbians seams important to both of last real Slavic powers- Poland and Russia.

Polish President went even that far to publicly confront PM of Poland regarding Kosovo situation. Most impression example was speach of Polish President Lech Kaczynski in New York during sesion of UN security council. It was real diplomatic scandal

Speaking in New York on Wednesday, Kaczynski once again condemned the Polish government's decision to recognize Kosovo.

"I have never tried to hide that I consider it a mistake. However, the government's decision is legitimate, but I, too, have my competencies and I am saying with severity - there will be no signature of mine on appointing an ambassador to Kosovo," he was quoted as saying.

BELGRADE -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Belgrade on October 20 will mark a new phase in bilateral relations.

This is according to Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Konuzin, who spoke to reporters in Belgrade on Thursday.

Medvedev's visit, at the invitation of Serbian President Boris Tadić, will also be deeply symbolic, as it will take place on the day when Belgrade was liberated by Russian troops and Yugoslav partizans from Nazi occupation, he told a news conference at the embassy.

MOSCOW, Russia -- President Dmitry Medvedev will visit Belgrade in October at the invitation of President Boris Tadic, the Kremlin announced on Wednesday (August 5th). Medvedev will take part in a Russian-Serbian "strategic partnership" summit. Talks will cover bilateral relations, but more importantly, joint energy projects Russia is promoting. Medvedev will also attend ceremonies marking the liberation of Belgrade in World War II. He will be the first Russian president to visit in years. (BBC - 06/08/09; Beta, B92, RTS, AFP - 05/08/09)

Russia support Serbia

Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev has described Serbia as a "key partner" for his country in Southeast Europe.

"We intend to continue to coordinate our foreign police moves in future, including the ones related to the solving of the issue with Kosovo", Medvedev said, as quoted by ITAR-TASS, as he received the letters credential of the new Serbian Ambassador to Moscow, Jelica Kurjak.

Now, say that situation isn`t interesting. If Poland and Russia founded common ground on Balkan, in Serbia (BDW- it is so since the time immemorial), who can say that Polish interests aren`t on colision course with USA, EU (read- Germany, France, Britain), Islamic league, Israely intentions on Balkan.

Should we say that Slavs finaly beggining to work togather?

but if you founded interesting above question, just think about next question that follow... Why Slavs beggining to work togather?

Mostly becaouse USA don't prioritize balkans and central & eastern europe?
I agree that Serbia can find support from Poland and Russia. Although it is minimal support from both countries since it's a bit faar from them. There have never been much help for Serbia recently (WW1 isn't recently).

Although if EU will ignore Poland's stand on Serbia's Kosovo it may happen some new things soon.

Mr Grunwald:

let me try

Its simple. Slavs beggining to work togather because without Serbs there is no Slavic south. Without strong Serbian state there is no Polish and Russian sphere of influence on Balkan.

How is that possible?

Listen people,... this is Balkan [analizing from Black see to the Western Balkan]:

1. Romania represent sublimation of Franch-Russian interests in the region but, it is always ready to obey to Russia immidiately. No, not because Romanians like Russians but because they fear of them. Note, there is no clear anti-Slavic sentiment in Romanians.

2. Bulgaria is traditionaly pro-German orriented player in the region. Sometimes, Bulgaria swich on Russian side but never completely. It always stays loyal to Germany, at least minimaly. i would say that Bulgaria represent attempt of Germany and Russia to balance their interests in the region.

3. Strategicaly, Albania is pro-Turkish player that is under Italian supervision. Strongly anti-Slavic sentiment.

4. Serbia- only real Slavic factor in the region. Last oasis of resistance to German and Turkish imperialism, hegemonism and domination in the region. Serbs never were in alliance with non-Slavs against other Slavs. Serbs are Slavs to the core of their being. They are proud of their Slaveno-Celtic-Sarmatian heritage. Serbs consider themselves as Gate Keepers of Slavija. As history and time confirmed... Balkan is Christian because Serbians are Christians, Balkan is zone of Whites because Serbians are Whites. When other Slavs obey to Russians, Serbs oppose to their attempts of domination over other Slavs. In the same time, Serbs likes Russian people. Serbs also believe in Poland. Serbs very much likes Czechs and Slovaks. For Greak Orthodox Serbs aren`t enough Orthodox, for Vatican, Serbs are pagans. Serbs are beacon of light for Poland and Russia, here. Poland and Russia trust to Serbs because Serbs balance their interests in crucial European transport and trade route.

5. Bosnia-Herzegovina is mutant state, confederation of Muslim-Catholic and Serbian Orthodox districts. But Catholics aren`t happy in Muslim-Catholic zone. Catholics are secund class citizens there ruled by Muslim majority. Bosnia-Herzegovina is strongly pro-Turkish player in the region.

6. Croatia is proud with its Nazi continuity from the WWII. Croatian elite suggests that Croats aren`t Slavs but of German origin. Croatia is strongly and exclusively pro-German player in the region. Vatican has its influece here but that influence is dictated and dependant on German plans here. Somehow, Germany managed to manipulate with Catholicism here and use it for its purposes.

7. on the end, little Slovenia. Slovenians resisting to germanization and austrization. Slovenia is Slavic state completely- by its origin, heritage and spirit. But Slovenia is too weak and isn`t capable to oppose to manifestations of German domination. So, when needed, Slovenia could be real German player in the region, no matter that Slovenian people isn`t happy about it. Simple, Slovenia obey to Germany.

Again, Slavs kiss EU ass because they have no vision of any Slavic unity...Russia at least has an economic motive and reward, because of gas/oil sales...Perhaps Poles gain through EU a-kissing, as they can work as bartenders in the UK and such.

agree, besides Crow, there are some lunatics posting on this board who seem to believe in that, but is is a hogwash really. Any regular citizen of Poland would probably think it is a joke. Sorry to be so blunt, but that is how things are.

seriously, mark my words.... Polish resistance to EU and USA over `Serbian question` present maybe last Polish attempt to preserve and promote authentic Polish interests in Europe, outside of Poland. It isn`t said publicly but, its that.

Serbian lands are only zone that can be understand as possible `Polish zone of influence`. On Balkan, in Serbia, Polish interests meets Russian interests. Russia knows that Serbian lands represent traditional realm of old Polish warlords and legendary kings. In Serbia, Russia tolerate `Polish zone of influence` because Russia trust to Serbs. Russia knows that Serbian perception of freedom means `Slavs without foreign domination`. Russia respect that, its enough to Russia.

Serbia- land of Racowie. Serbia- best waranty to Poland. Serbia- last strong card of Poland

Since when? I mean, I can't see a historic basis for this statement, at least not in regard to Poland.

I know! Maybe we could create a federated state of different southern Slavic groups! They could unite and show their Slavic spirit by creating a harmonious country where religious and historical animosities would be forgotten!
We could even call it "Souternslavland!"
How do you think that would that work out?
