I'm sure they were antiglobalists protesting against the visit of George Bush. Just ignore them ;-)

Can't name the network but it was sent today. I believe it was about Bush visit in Poland. Sorry was too short to get the sense out of it. I understand, some people or even many people don't like Bush but to burn the US flag, that's bull..........

I think flag burning happens all the time....it makes for a bold statement for those you have an issue with the US.

I believe in free speech, so it doesn't really bother me. I take it as a comment that they don't like what they perceive our country is representing...an opinion if you will.

And I really did not like the backlash the Dixie Chicks got for dissing George. The vicious, hate filled backlash, in my opinion, was far worse than anything Natalie said.

Name a country in which there were no US or whatever country flags burnt. Just because there are some radical people in Poland who did that doesn't mean all Poles burn American flags. Same with hooligans - if some British hools attacked black people, a normal person would not write "British people attacking black people", would it?

Please don't create anotyer hype/stereotype. The topic of this thread should be: "A few Poles burnt American flag".

flag burning is the right of the people.

it is a symbol for their dissatisfaction with the state.

while i wouldn't do it myself

I believe blind obedience to the state is foolish and asking for trouble
(removal of freedom, the patriot act) I appreciate there is a 'war on terror' but its also been a good way for the US gov't to pry into the homes of every US citizen at there will and leisure

Not everywhere. I don't know about others, but burning Polish in Poland is a crime. And we don't use to burn even Russian or German, so I'm very surprised.

I agree.
Our right to burn a flag is not centered on the flag itself or who it belongs to, but our right to make a statement without being regulated. In the US, flag burning is protected by the first amendment of the Constitution, which says inpart:“Congress shall make no law abridging freedom of speech.”Our first amendment freedom of speech is protected no matter what nation’s flag is involved.

thanks Grzegorz and besides burning a national flag of one country deeply touches millions of people even if they disagree with current politics and certainly doesn't solve any national or international problems.

ok...forget it. It's beyond you. At this point you're looking for an arguement. I never said anything like that.

I just appreciate my First Ammendment right. Sad as an American you don't.
I will post this again:
