Well I've seen the tallness thread, and I thought I'd asked :P.

My great grandma was really tan, sorta like a olive skin complection. Basiclly my dads side of the family has olive skin heh. Hes 50% polish though so it could be something else.

now my mom is pale, no offense but her skin colour is like a cracker lol best way I would be able to put it. I know she has Irish, english,Native American, sweed, uhh yeah and so on. But her mom is dark skinned.

I'm in btw during the winter I am light skin skin and then spring on up I tan real easy. I don't know if its the native american or the polish, so thats my question for you all!

Except for me. I'm as white as a ghost. I couldn't get a tan to save my life.

I actually prefer pale skin to tanned skin, and some people go overboard with those tanning salons, looks like they came out of an oven or something, yuck

There are solariums everywhere in PL...even in the middle of nowhere. I think many people there just want to be tan for the sake of looking cool.

I didnt think Polish were naturally tan, white is what i thought.

my dad used to get dark, and when referred to his skin color during his marine
days, it was called " Ruddy" <~beats me on what that even refers too, dont even
know what color that would be classified as .

I am like that as well i get a slight tan now but this is through years of severe pain and no gain methods as a teenager to get a tan ... plus i must be the only person to ever burn and peel from a sunbed a week before going on holiday to malta. crazy indeed.
but red head ... freckles .... classic semi skimmed milk skin colour ... oh well

I agree there. one of my friends at work had agressive malanoma which
was on her shoulder/neck area, she had always wore skin protection and
the doctors were stumped. but she recovered quick. had it removed and
major chemo/radiation. all is well.

scarey really. even say tanning beds are the worst for ppl. I used to go, but
I dont want to chance that even .

Haven't you heard about the current problem with tanorexia, people who are addicted to sunbed and hop from one salon to another.
I'm naturally a bit tanned but if and rarely when I go on a tan bed thingy, I never go for more than 5 or 6 minutes. But I've seen people go in for 20 minutes plus, and these machines are serious skin crackling ovens. Nut cases.

I only ever went on a sunbed once and that dreadful burning smell made me feel sick so I never did again, besides a tan off a sunbed looks terrible - I know girls who used to used them all the time and they have skin like leather now!!

I hear a couple of yes's and a few no's lol. Hmm

I would never spend a dollar at a tanning salon, waste of money I say! That orange look is not attractive at all! so many girls in my highschool walk around in winter looking orange, its so nasty.

I tan naturally, none of that fake crap touching my skin. And I doubt rest of my family (polish side) go to salons at all. I know my grand dad doesn't for a fact, thats just weird haha.

It's the first time I heard that saying somebody is tanned can be taken as an offense.

I also tan like a Gypsy.

Some people really do seem to be addicted to solarium's. Personally I prefer a pale complexion to a burned one.
