TUSK & KACZYŃSKI BACK IN THE SAND PIT?

Poland's squabbling little boys in the sand pit are at it again. PM Tusk isn't sure he'll attend the Prague Eastern Partenrship summit becuase President Kaczyński plans to attend. Foreign-ministry spoeksman Paszkowski told the daily Dziennik that the plan was devised by his ministry without Kaczyński's knowledge. One should think that on things such as Poland's approach to Russia and other ex-Soviet republics the government and president should get their acts together rather than going solo. Hopefully there'll be no rerun of last year's "you can't use my plane" and "muscial chairs" nonsense. But then what will the poor tabloids write about?

It's quite tragic and embarrassing for Poland. Many students see the funny side of it but if people get on in workplaces in today's diverse world, they can get on too.

True its a shame they can't get it together. With the rest of Europe having economies going down the tube this is a good opportunity for Poland to present itself as a good place for investment.

The problem is that they've overplayed the crisis. This was a chance at solidarity but infighting has put paid to that. Tusk really had the chance to shine but he just doesn't have the economic credentials of a Gordon Brown.

A more dynamic PM may have really raised the profile of Poland here. Tusk clearly falls short. Many Poles came back in hope AND expectation but Tusk just hasn't put enough incentive-based packages in place to lure them back for the long haul.

Kaczyński is too busy saber rattling and making noises rather than doing anything of note.
