Mac Users, in Warsaw I need to buy or borrow Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.5 or higher

Hi All

I've hit a bit of a snag & need to buy or borrow Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.5 or higher.

I've really tried many avenues already & have ran out of time.

Does anybody have the discs handy in Warsaw or knows a source ?

Apple retailers don't stock any longer, Ebay has seriously let me down & willing friends are going crazy trying to find their discs in the bottom of the drawer.

Appreciate any help, thanks

I'm in the same boat - I have tried to find Tiger here, but it seems next to impossible. Out of desperation, I am having my Panther discs mailed to me from the States to hold me over until I can find Tiger here. I am also mining Craigslist in America, but it is proving to be a fruitless task.

Regarding Mininova, I would steer clear of downloading OS X via torrent. I have heard horror stories about tainted system software being circulated in cyberspace - not for Mac specifically, but close enough to scare me straight. I want an authentic Apple OS X DVD in my hand before I will download it onto my precious Macintosh...

I too am scared to take a pirate copy, I'm just trying to buy a genuine copy to replace mine or borrow one :(

I'll keep checking Ebay I guess, I did win a copy last week but when it arrived it was the wrong system, luckilly they've accepted a return under paypal policy, I just lose the P&P.

I'll keep the torrent option as a last resort which is slightly better than buying a new mac for 7000zl when I have a perfectly good 28000zl mac that is only 3-4 years old.

Please anyone, search your office, find me a copy :n/

What! if it doesnt work it doesnt work. I thought Macs were immune to such viral risks anyway.

It is my understanding that there may be spyware and other malware imbedded in any system software available as a download. I am simply not willing to take such a risk...

Only because people have not really started to write them for Mac, they will the more popular they become, you can do a Windows virus and upset and awful lot more people. I have had a few virus on my Mac, but they seem very tame and easy to deal with, I am sure the time will come soon for a meltdown.

Little surprises can arrive in downloads for sure.

I have 13 copies all original I would put one copy in an envelope and post it.

I'm not a Mac expert but this is what I have discovered ;

My Mac has 10.3.9 & I have just bought some new software for a new job that requires a minimum of 10.4.5 to install.

While my Mac was the best at the time it quickly became out of date & so will not take Leopard due to its processor, Leopard is easy & cheap to find but as Tiger will allow the new software & run on my Jurassic Mac it is all I need but seems to be the sticking point.
