Hmm Cate Blanchette? She's pretty big on the acting scene these days

Hugo Weaving (not really all that famous but a good actor nonetheless, the dude who played Agent Smith in The Matrix by the way.)

Well, no, I could not as I have only recently come back from Australia so I am only in a position now of telling you the answer-and that is, there is nothing very Polish which I saw in Sydney.

Sir Les Paterson is Australia's most famous son.

Sir Lesley Colin Patterson is Obese, lecherous and offensive, this farting, belching, nose-picking figure of Rabelaisian excess is an antipodean Falstaff.

Poet Banjo Patterson, who amongst other things, wrote 'Waltzing Matilda'.

I saw Jason Donovan star as Rocky in the Rocky Horror Show.

Germaine Greer. She's Australian.

And of course:
The highest mountain in Oz was named after Tadeusz Kościuszko.
Most Australians pronounce it 'Mount Kozzy-okso'.

A Polish geologist, Paweł Edmund Strzelecki named it. He did a lot of work in Australia.
He also knew Florence Nightingale (not Australian).
His name down under is pronounced Strezlekky!

they don't, it was simply a Polish geographer (Edmund Strzelecki who emigrated during partitions) who discovered the mountain and named it after Kościuszko

I imagine in Oz, they probably shorten it to just 'Kozzy'.
