I'm turning nationalistic. Want to change my views.

50% of my workplace is Polish. At first i was interested... I made friends and lovers. But im sorry, over time my personal steriotype has become... Tracksuit wearing, BMW driving, unfaithful, untrustworthy, two faced, teasing, big headed, money loving, materialistic, ignorant, bad character judging, secret prioratising, gossiping, self loving pricks. The list goes on. I have had situations to back it all up. The job i onced loved is now crawling with scum. I will ot be forced out by bad people. I liked them at first I tried to see the good second Hell, i give up Im sure there are good ones but, i shall ot try and find them. pfffff

I liked them at first I tried to see the good second I like polish people because most of them are very kind and have open-mind.Their human-beings are excellent. However, I don't want them to be my business partner or collaborators. At least in my scientific work at institute, people seems to work not efficiently and professors are too much proud of themselves although their knowledge is very primitive. Such things are connected to bureaucracy, less infrastructures, political scandals, environmental pollutions and so on, I think.

Use of the word teasing, does that mean you were seeing a Polish girl and she's dumped you/not interested any more? That description above might describe some Poles but it sure describes a ton of neds too. McCoy: most of poles working abroad have one common goal. making money. This is the goal of most people working these days, to make money. Nothing wrong with making money.

It could be that he has a valid point to bring up which could have been discussed but the timing of his post and wording suggests he's sounding off...we'll see, he may return and we can find out a bit more. szkotja2007: He claims he is from Scotland and his interests are "Flood"? :) Yes I wondered about that too. I'm assuming it's a "flood" of Poles he's talking about and not the high river levels...who knows?

Many Poles themselves will tell you that a lot of undesirables went over so I can imagine hordes of tracksuit wearing individuals. They like the hooded look here. Unfaithful and untrustworthy? Well, employers can always give them the heave-ho if they don't shape up in the workplace. As for the money side of things, McCoy said it well. Many Poles don't hide the fact that they are there for cash but they may find themselves stuck. Quite a few have this romantic vision of returning to Poland loaded and ready to set up a business. It often doesn't work that way. Self-loving pricks? Tbh, that was one of my first impressions when I came here proper in 2004. There was a cocky swagger about some people that got on my wick. Quite a few actually. However, I don't see it that much these days. Maybe I've switched myself off to it and started looking for better things a long time ago. It's the same old conclusion. Some are like that and some aren't. It just depends if you see the glass as half full or half empty.

Just a suggestion, but maybe new members to the forum should have to have their first dozen or so posts approved by a moderator before they can be read by the rest of us ? Seanus: It's the same old conclusion. Some are like that and some aren't. Exactly and it is the same in every walk of life. There are plenty of idle foreigners I can think of that I would happily see deported tomorrow given half a chance but that is because they're objectionable gits that take up valuable space. There are also just as many British people that I would like to see shipped off somewhere faraway too. I've work with people from all over the place and some I get on with and some I don't. It has little to do with where they are from, what colour their skin is, gay or straight and so on. You can't like everyone.

Well james maybe you should take some time to think about why you have come to this point, i wouldn't go accepting any advice on the matter because people will only want to change your mind to what they think it should be. There is no better judgement than your own.

BritishEmpire: There is no better judgement than your own For once I agree with BritishEmpire. :-) Reflect on the root of the problem. Ask - is the reason they are behaving like that a result of their nationality. Reflect on why the situation has arisen. Ask yourself if that is the only problem. Decide how you should react in the short termand what you should do in the long term. Knowing Poles, and the way people here in Poland can sometimes be, I can understan how a workplace that is half Polish could be frustrating. Especially if they (as Poles abroad) are feeling vulnerable and closing ranks. An attempt to reach out to them, outside the workplace (the separation between public and private life is bigger in Poland than the UK) might really pay off for you!
