obviously you will all complain that the article is full of lies, or is racist blah blah -

MORE than half of the 800,000 Polish immigrants in Britain do not work or pay taxes.

Half a million Poles living here are dependants, such as children, wives and grandparents, who are being kept, often on state handouts.

Not me. Because I actually read the article. The article just gives facts on numbers. It doesn't mention anyone breaking the law. So, that makes it a non-issue.

noimmigration,

What is your point regarding the article. It is simply about the free movement of people, benefits they are entitled to and the fact that they are living like normal families. The article actually shows them fitting into society.

Indeed.
The article states:
"Migrant parents are claiming £33million a year in child benefits to look after their kids in Britain"
This is a very small figure considering the size of the Polish population in the UK.

Part of your question is answered by: HM Revenue & Customs.

Better to use your own government's opinion rather than mine.

The Daily Star is even worse than the Daily Mail. Where are the official government stats to prove this is the case?

If you are new to the forum then you have not read my argument that poles consume far more resources than they pay in tax ; Translation services, council integration services, child benefit for children who live in uk AND poland, NHS services, education (it costs £5000 per year to send one child to school), council services, housing grants etc etc. Not to mention that poles are entitled to a rebate when they leave the country.

They are entitled to these benefits.

I think you'll find the childrens parent(s) pay taxes to the british government.

If you want to stay in a country where there is no support for the family, and its all private then move to the US mate. Thats not the way Scotland operates, and its not going to change in the future.
Thats if they would let you in , without any work experience of note! :P

It F*cking will when labour are out of power. Wether they are entitled to benefits or not it is WRONG. It is WRONG that we brits are below immigrants on the housing list for instance.

It is WRONG that inflation has overtaken pay rises and this is badly excacerbated by undercutting from immigrants. 10 years ago you could make 8-9 pounds and hour as a forklift driver. most of them now make minimum wage. That is WRONG.

Bleeding heart, liberal sociologist policy and view points like yours are the most despised in this country. Just look at the publics opinion poles.

[qoute=neil]I think you'll find the childrens parent(s) pay taxes to the british government. [/qoute]

Listen you utter MORON, how can a toilet cleaning pole pay enough tax to pay for ONE child to attend school when it costs £5000 to educate one child per year. ?

The house of lords as well as independant commisioning have found that immigrants contribute nothing to britain.

Gordon brown is an eu lapdog and that is the ONLY reason we have been flloded with millions upon millions of economic migrants.

Um, first off, why would you believe anything the daily star has to say?! Do you spend your time searching for stuff like this just to post it on here?
Secondly, I don't really get your point, how many British children go out to work?! All children are dependants....not just those of Polish origin.
In order to get state handouts, these wives and grandparents would have to have worked in the UK for a year minimum. They cannot just arrive here and recieve benefits.

I am not stupid enough to post something unless it can be verified from the source, wether that is a government statistic or an independant monitering body.

British children have parents that have been paying tax their whole lives and will continue to pay their whole lives after their children have finished education.
My father for instance pays £15000 tax a year and has continued to pay around this sum since he was in his late twenties.

They should not be eleigable for any benefits unless they have become british citizens. this method works well in many other countries. If you cannot get a job dont f*cking come to britian. if you lose your job, get anohter one or get out of the uk.

poles can claim more in just beenfits than what they paid in tax the previous year. This means any benfitis they get including resources such as the NHS and education are paid for by the british taxpayer.

translation services alone in 207 cost that british tax payer over £1 billion.

can you not see that britian is a soft touch for all the immigrants in europe and outside of the eu.

They are taking money from our pocket.

toilet cleaning pole pay enough tax

Pays more tax than you do just now.

What gives a subsidy sucker like yourself the right to criticise those that want to work for a living ?

Stop sponging off taxpayers like me and your parents - then you might know what it means to support yourself.

No need for that language in response to my post. I'm sure we can can have a reasonable discussion like adults, without you swearing at me. I have never been out of work, have never visited a doctor, never had to use interpretation in the 5 years I've lived in this country, and do not use the education system. I understand your frustation with regards to immigration, HOWEVER, we are not all scroungers, stealing jobs, as you say 'taking money from our pockets.'

I have paid tax for 5 years working fulltime before I went to university, I still pay tax because I still work even though at university, when I leave university I will pay a substantially higher amount of tax. Dont even try and turn this argument on me

Only morons who have never been to university to could say something as ignorant as this.

I understand your point, I am not against skilled controlled immigration, I am deadly against unskilled mass immigration. I think that is a resonable concern.

I paid tax working for 5 years. The time is finished so we use the past simple. Not I have paid tax for 5 years unless the time is continuing.

I will be paying far more tax when I graduate than the people ont this forum critizing me for pursuing an education. I will also be staying in the uk after I finish my degree. and my parents have contributed immensly to british tax as they are proffesionals.
