Leeds: Beware of purse snatch gangs in supermarkets

How they know they are Polish? Are they wearing some badges?
For some old lady there is obviously no difference between Polish, Russian, Romanian. All speak the same to me are probably her thoughts but hey they are all Polish.
I bet if police catch them and they are not Polish at all, there wouldn't be any single word on it in the newspapers.

For example the other day I was having a problem with my van and was inadvertantly blocking the pavement, some Polish witches came by giving me dirty looks, I knew immediately where they were from, it was the skin and bone legs, high heels and miserable faces that gave it away, SIMPLES!!

It was the 'concerned reader' who said the woman was Polish. The police were careful not to say that.

I see this has occurred in the area of Leeds where i lived for twenty years , before moving to Poland , and yes there are quite a few Polish people , living and working in the area , along with Latvians , Rumanians , and other nationalities...

If these bandits are Polish it will no doubt make life a bit harder for the majority of Polish people in the area who are honest and hard working , hopefully they will be caught , and if found guilty they should be thrown out of the country...

Whatever nationality there are , they are scum...

You lived in Armley? Me too.

Most of the Polish people living there are hard-working and law-abiding. It's a shame (if the bag snatchers are Polish) for the rest there.

Mind you, there's always been crime in that district; even long before people from abroad started to settle. Bag snatching is nothing new there.

Maybe they are Polish, maybe they aren't. We don't know, but maybe we will see.

That's very possible. Could be from anywhere. Which is probably why the police didn't say they were Polish.

Mind you, Polish people are hardly strangers to most people in English cities. And there are plenty in that district.

what average person who reads this article think?

That old bag knows that that girl was a Pole and end of the story
She recognized the accent or something ( polish eyes, polish nose ) and there is no point to discuss. This is a simple example how accusation can spread and stir hate

Actually , i lived in Pudsey , but Armley , is just down the road from there , a Polish friend of mine that i took to the UK to find work now lives in Armley , and works in Pudsey....

I had a number of Poles living in my house in Pudsey , and all were decent hard working guys.... Of course , you get thieving bandits in all nationalities , but sadly , if these bandits turn out to be Polish , it will reflect badly on all Poles in the area...As Jonni has said , there was a problem with crime in that area long before the Poles arrived , its not one of the better areas of Leeds...
