WE ARE NOT THE POLISH EMBASSY NOR THE CONSULATE. TALK TO THEM AS THEY HAVE THE POWER TO LET YOU APPLY FOR IT.

God bless the pope

But he's a German ! And the Only True Pope (C) (TM) can be only a Pole !

Btw, present this link to your wife/husband URL, it's a case when you want to move to Poland, though. From what I understood from this: URL, a foreigner must be married for at least 3 years to a Polish citizen and acquire a permit for settlement in Poland.

Thats really good of you. From the look of things then I just need to get a permit for settlement in poland . We have been living together for over 6 years now so and I have travelled to poland mant times.

I am going to the consulate to get the settlement permit application form..

Thanks very much and God bless the late pope and the new one

Behave people! This forum was made for people who want to ask.

presenter76, I think you do qualify but that would be much better if you go to some office/embassy/consul and ask for details. But I think 3 years of marriage is really enough to get citizenship.

You know, now, after our both countries are EU member states you have same rights in Poland as Polish people have, no citizenship is necessary for anything anymore. ;)

You will only ever qualify for polish citizenship if you actually live in Poland continuously for 6 years, usually when applying you need to show proof of your job

Maybe it wasnt clear from your request, my understand was below:
BY NATURALIZATION:

Citizenship can be granted by the President of the Republic of Poland. An Alien is eligible to apply for the citizenship if he or she has resided in Poland as a lawful permanent resident for at least 5 years. The granting of the citizenship can be subjected to submission of evidence of the loss or renunciation of foreign citizenship.

Marriage to a Polish citizen does not affect citizenship of either party.

But you maybe looking at the below:

BY MARRIAGE:

An alien can acquire Polish citizenship, if she/he is married for at least 3 years to a Polish citizen and obtained a residence permit. Applicant needs to apply to the Voivodeship Office of her/his place of residence in Poland and declare intention of becoming a Polish citizen. Application should be made within 6 months from obtaining the residence permit.

So theres your answer, you need to be married 3 years and you need to apply for a residency permit, obviously you need to reside there at least 6 months out of the calander year.

Wrong wrong wrong

You can get an polish citizenship if you married with a pole for 3 years

but you must live in poland for this 3 years and you must have had the temporary residence permit for 1 year then for 2 then you applied for an permanent then after that you can apply for the citizenship

Did you all got that ?

If you are UK/EU citizen you don't need a permit to reside in Poland.
