Revo given that Ireland 32 comes from Northern Ireland which is part of the UK, surely that makes him an immigrant?

Should he be sent home?

I never said I was born in the 6 counties?. There are 9 counties in Ulster, something my fellow provincial neighbours forget from time to time.

As Americans think being Irish is trendy. Saint Patricks day and all that. The most recent American census was done near the end of March. A week or so after Saint Patricks day.

American are walking maths equations. They claim to be 1/8 Irish, 1/16 French and all other sorts of nonsense.

It will be a sad day for Ireland when our population resorts to the same.

Call it what you like but at the end of the day it's a seperate country and that makes 32 an immigrant.

I was born In Donegal and lived there for the first 18 months of my childhood. My parrents moved to Tyrone after their third child was born. Unless I have absolutely no understanding of geography on this little island......I was born in Ulster which is part of 'Ireland' and not the occupied 6 counties you refer to.

If somebody is born in Belfast and decides to move to Cork that does not make them an immigrant. To say so is absurd.

Pawel from Krakow moving to Dublin. Immigrant.
Paddy from Belfast moving to Dublin. Irish man moving cities.

Capisce?

Milking our economy dry and sending the money home. At least the Irish who immigrate to foreign shores spend within theat county and most of them stlle for life. Look at America, Austrailia etc.

The poles have done nothing to support the economy here in Ireland....and they want their language to be recognised as third language !! Never

Really think about what you write about? your the same guys who promote shoppers from the south to shop in northern ireland, And you have the cheek to talk about poles and the irish economy. when you telling people to go and spend it in the british economy, oh and i see the Never? that was your best buddy said that,

You talk about freedom and then you talk about poles coming to ireland

Irish immigrants to the U.S.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_American
"A total of 36,495,800 Americans (more than 12% of total population) reported Irish ancestry in the 2006 American Community Survey.......Between 1820 and 1860, the Irish constituted over one third of all immigrants to the United States, and two-thirds of these Irish immigrants were Catholic. This trend reached its peak in 1840, when nearly half of all immigrants to the United States originated from Ireland.""There are approximately five million reporting Scots-Irish ancestry, who are counted separately from those counted as Irish in the U.S."

"More than 7 million Irish immigrants have come to America since the 1600s."
http://www.answers.com/topic/irish-american
--------------
Polish immigrants to the U.S.
"There are an estimated 10 million such Polish Americans, representing about 3% of the population of the United States......"

Out of my inherent Polish fairness I gave the Irish more space here. :) If my math is correct, 7 million is more than 5 million.

Irish shoppers going up North costs the Souths exchequer 70 million euro so far this year.

Eastern europeans will send 1.5 billion euros home again this year.

Which is a bigger problem?

I did not reply to your ludicrous comments on this thread as you do not seem to have grasped by previous comments.

1. I support the spending of money in the country I live in - Ireland (26 counties). My reason is to allow the economy to grow and for the spending to generate jobs in this country.

2. I am a member of Sinn Fein (none of which are armchair patriots).

3. Why would Ian Paisley be my buddy?

"Massive welfare fraud committed by foreign nationals."

"25% of jailed criminals are foreign nationals."

The simple truth is, the EU isn't predicated on a pick&choose basis. True, there are opt-outs and protocols which can change things but the truth remains that Poles are entitled to travel to Ireland under the free movement of people provisions and are also not blocked from sending money back home.

The Irish had too much of the good life and didn't moan then. The Poles were a constant, they have been working and sending money home for quite some time now. When the downturn started, so did the moaning. How can the Poles be blamed for this when they are a constant?

States foresaw all this a long time ago, the complications that the EU would throw up. However, they entered into it, for better or for worse, and tried to make a good fist of it. It's similar to getting married in that regard. Very often, comity and cooperation are to be preferred over profit and advanced selectivism.

50,000(204 euro a week plus other assorted benefits) Poles on the dole here. 3,000 Polish families claiming rent allowance.

The Poles, as an ethnic group, are a burden on the Irish state.

It does not break down prisoners by nationality. Knife crime is rife among the Polish community, every couple of weeks Poles murder Poles after a house party at the weekend.

Poles are our biggest ethnic group on welfare, again it does not break down fraud by nationality. Lets just say that a lot of the Poles emigrating here are not your average decent Pole you may find in Poland.

"Eastern europea"

It's either East European or Eastern Europe. Eastern European is technically incorrect grammar although widely used.
