Mister H:
Jihozapad saying that 99% of the Polish people he knows hates English food

Well depends how many poles he know :)
Proper, fresh prepared English food is really nice. Maybe all they had was microwave "value" stuff which i kinda don't blame them for not liking :)

It's all this "chips with scraps" stuff I don't get... no wonder everyone's fat round here... eating bits of leftover batter!!!!!!111!!!1 :)

But, in general, English food is nowhere near as bad as people make out. Though if you do all your shopping in those cheap freezer shops, I'd agree. But those jars of Polish bigos/go³±bki, etc are almost inedible too. Strangely, the best fish and chips round here are sold by a Pakistani/Middle-Eastern takeaway!

yeah i must admit i don't get the 'scraps' part either, gravy i like but scraps, nah that just means extra swimming or something!!!!

actually i have to disagree with you there in the main, the only people who can even attempt a decent fish and chips are the numerous Chinese takeaways, i find the Indians, Pakistani's etc etc haven't got a clue

yeah when i went to america when i was young, everytime i would ask the nice lady in the hotel for chips, she would bring me crisps!!!!! I didn't say anything because then i just thought she was a 'stupid yank' but after speaking to some Americans on Holiday i soon discovered chips were 'potato chips' I.E. 'crisps'

But they do!

I've tried dozens of fish and chip shops on my way home from work, and the place I'm referring to is the best!

They do 100 frozen samosas for £13 as well - beat that! :)

Price maybe good - but what about the taste ? And what things are going into those samosas?

Welcome back to the forums Bunia :)

Polish meat in English supermarkets?

Getting back on topic...today I ate Polish sausage that began with a Z. I can't remember the full name. I've never had it before but it has black pepper through it. Any ideas? It was bought in a supermarket in the UK.

My fault, I should have used the correct letter..

An acquired taste, I remember thinking how disgusting the frogs were for slapping mayo all over their chips..

But vinegar on chips is actually quite healthy since the vinegar breaks down the fats...
