Complaining about food quality in the UK is like complaining about lack of ships in Czech Republic. How can an island placed in this geographical position have tasty food is beyond my imagination.

Read the title of your thread:

Ok, Lefty - I CAN simplify it to THAT level. I even can finish every second sentence with ...NOT!

But all in all it's an important experience for me - I can dumb it down, no probs.

If you do not like living in the UK you can choose to live in one of the other 24 EU member states, or apply for a work permit to live in Germany or Austria.

Nobody is asking you to dumb it down! I'm just saying why do you have to be so negative all the time!

You make it sound like ohh poor you the sad life of a Polish immigrant who is stuck in this horrible country with it's terrible food and horrible people ;'( RevokeNice has a point! there are a lot of countries with far more culture and culinary delights than England but YOU chose this one! I don't hear you complaining about the money.... do I? (next thing you will tell me the bank notes are too big compared to Polish ones blah blah...) at the end of the day you chose this life so stop being negative and moaning because to be honest nobody wants to hear it.

You are in England, what do you expect?Greeks and Italians are almost starving in the first months in UK(till they get somewhat used).

Stop lying..there's plenty of Greek restaurants and the Italians have pretty much cornered the market for mediterranean food,..Also we have a little thing callled "super markets" shock horror!!!! You can buy meat and veg and prepare you own! Southern you are such tw*t at times! Most Greek men could do with starving themselves a bit anyway! They're not short of a few lbs!

I'd love to.

Lets face it, European food is very similar.
I like spices even though bland food is probably easier on my system but Piri piri or the many Asian foods just blow the foods we have in Europe out of the water.
I still like European food but not the top of my list.

Piri Piri originated in Portugal, you absolute idiot. Portuguese settlers introduced it to the Africans. Why are multiculturalists so dumb?

You're right, except maybe for the French and Italian kitchen. At least continental food. You know why I buy such a lot of food in those Polish shops? Because it reminds me so much of Dutch food. Polish, German and Dutch food are very much alike, there are only little differences.

RevokeNice

You're partly right: Piri Piri is originally American and was brought by Portugese sailors to Africa. So it didn't originate in Portugal, but in Latin America.

Though the origin of this sauce is probably Portuguese,

The sauce yes. But I was talking about the peppers.

I know it as being African from the chicken Piri-piri restaurants in London, well they are more like fast food places and boy oh boy are they hot!
I was checking it out, that is why I had the link to Wiki and then RN shoots off his mouth showing us all what a genious he is.

So you really think I meant to call you a genius?
You really think that you are a better source than Wiki?
And you really think that Peri Peri had to have come from Portugal so that I would be wrong?

Whilst im at it product lebelling. Ive bought the same product (Nan Active baby formula) but in different sizes the formula has different mixing levels on the packaging and this is for babies. What the FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK??

Unfortunately, mostly, it happens in Tesco...nomen omen an english company. It is sad that the same company has diffrent standards for diffrent countries-very english.

OsiedleRuda:
Pole in "English Food Is Crap - Polish Food Is Better" shocker

This is very true. Most of your food is erm,how can put that..tasteless(pies,yorkshire pudding, cooked vegetables).I remember a comparishion made by "the sun" of food in England and France. That was after France's presiden said;“The only thing they [the British] have done for European agriculture is mad cow”. He made a further attack on British cooking, saying: “You can’t trust people who cook as badly as that.”..accordind to "the sun" english food was better than the french one buhhhahahaha-that made my day.
I is very sad that you, english guys can't stand any criticism but still.love moaning about others. That's so english....

Food products may be worse, or maybe good quality of these is harder to find. But I think that various dishes in UK are actually better/ more interesting/ varied than most of bland dishes in Poland. On the other the best food is probably Asian food..

Whereas pierogi ruskie or kluski śląskie have far more flavour, right? I don't think so.

Well, cooking everything in some horrid, sickly cream like the French seem to love to do, is not my idea of great food. And the UK has many superb chefs. Whereas Poland has.... hmm... Pascal Brodnicki. Who even speaks Polish with a French accent as well as having a French imię! haha

I like Polish food as well as English food. Just because neither are likely to win the "World's Best Cuisine" award, doesn't mean that both countries have crap food. Just because I like Thai, Indian, Chinese and Italian food the best, it doesn't mean I don't like Polish or English food!

Must be a Polish thing as well, because my family is 100% Polish, so how can I be "so English"?

pwned, basically :p

Pies are tasteless?????? That's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Yorkshire pudding and roast beef have a characteristic taste. I like ruskie and kluski śląski but they are a little blander overall. Still, there's always salt.

South African pies are the best I have ever tasted.

In Scotland, we have them with gravy but they are good without it too. A pie and a Bovril is a full taste experience.

I'd do anything for some decent droëwors, biltong or potjiekos right now ;)
