I like scottish sense of humor and some purely scottish sayings/phrases!!!
Would like to learn more! :) I know that some PF users are Scottish and I am sure they could help me, any suggestions? Sarcastic stuff is much appreciated :)

What about an Aberdonian trying everything known to man to avoid buying a round?

Brilliant! :)
A new phrase and a new word... a cunt.... ;)

hmmm, how about the scenario when you have to say thanks to someone, but both people know there is nothing to be grateful?

We tend to nod and look away as quickly as possible ;)

We say 'ta, min' in a tone that suggests we are not really grateful. A Doric speciality ;)

If you want to talk about the rat race and the hectic pace of life, you'd say:

Losh, bit the warl's gyan roon at a fair bit bicker. Translated as, 'geez, ain't the world going round at a fair speed?'. Fae Robbie Shepherd.

I knew him well, a kint 'im weel :)

Well, it would seem that you don't know them well enough. The truth is that Aberdonians are the stingy ones and the big two are not that bad at all.

Any requests? No, 'get on your knees and smile like a donut' is not Scottish ;)

LOL some of these are funny when you see them written down. My personal best word from scots is Mawkit. I found this which has some good words on it.

http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Transwiki:List_of_Scottish_slang_words

Doric is funny as even some Scots find it hard to understand, as for Aberdonian fit like?

In Inveraray (i rarely hear the phrase outside of here) they say Whooraya, to mean very large or very long. That was a whooraya walk tae git here.

In Glasgow we would use Pure instead of that.

Also you often find people saying "Knaw whit a mean" at the end of sentences.

If you go on iTunes and download the podcasts "Limmy's World Of Glasgow" you will find plenty of examples of Glasgow phrases.
