Why not CANADA?
Canada is a land of opportunity. Canadians are wonderful people
I am an American who goes to Canada every opportunity that I get..When God made Canada, he mane another heaven. It is his greatest masterpiece..
Every one is treated as an equal . There is no sleeping in the streets. No verbal abuse..
Quebec is French.. But it has a lot of Poles too. Great place.
Ontario is loaded with Poles. Great place.
Then there the Virgin forest, countless lakes, and Majestic mountains.
The wild animals that still roam free.
AHH, yes.. Then ther is the Vancouver Island, Need I say more?

Yes there is. I saw some in BC - Vancouver, Kamloops.

But this minor point notwithstanding I agree that Canada is a pretty damn fine place to be. My eldest son is making his life there now. Lucky so and so.

Oh and I like having Polish people over here in the UK generally. The ones I know work hard, fit in well and know how to enjoy themselves responsibly. Sure there must be bad apples but no more than among the Brits.

It is an option to be honest!! Actually, few days ago some english employment agency sent me across this absolutely fantastic job opportunity in Ontario for 65 grand a yr. Probably they'd like to get rid of me for some reason :):):)
I know what reason: I don't suit a typical "bloody polak" character in UK, I don't take any benefits, i didn't take any loan for a property in Poland, I'm paying all taxes and rest of that sh1ts....

About the poles in UK ...tide is turning mate! Right now they're coming back to Poland!

Franek - you really post a real doom and gloom picture of Poles in the UK.

100% agree with that.

I guess it is easier to pop home to visit friends and family - 2 hour flight with Wizz or Central Wings... Canada is a bit further (although I do have a real soft spot for Montreal).

But where does it stem from? I've got a really cool mate from Canada, and I wouldn't describe him like that...

Thats not true mate when i was back in the UK recently almost all of my old mates were having good old grumble about the immigration issues and unfortunately Poles are at the centre of that.

In response to the original thread how are Poles going to get visas for Canada, ive looked into that a bit and unless your highly qualified you aint got much chance of a visa unless you got $400,000 Canadian dollars. Thats the pickle here!

lol, of course there are kool people from Canada, that wasn't what i was saying. I just hate it when people brush the whole of the UK with a brush and then try and sell their own country. If a country is good enough and attractive to immigrants, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SELL IT, get my drift :).

It based on an observation that Canadians aren't that bright and tend to be very large and stand around with their mouths agape with their lower lip just above their navel. Just harmless Yankee fun making.

By virtue of Whistler alone Canada is a cool place !!!

Too black and white. My son is on a the BC provincial nominee programme and he had all of a year's experience. In two months he will likely get permanent residence status. It's who you know.

Your son is a UK resident is he not? Ofcourse there are ways in.

I dont however think Mr Sobieski..unskilled looking for a bit of cash in hand toilet cleaning would be so succesful.

It doesn't matter on PNP whether he was from Timbuktoo or Brixton. And my point was that the experience levels are not always that important. Unskilled would be difficult though. And haven't we done the toliet cleaning joke to death yet?

Er yes. But what does that have to with the Canadian Provincial Nominee Programme?

I dont know about the Canadian Provincial Nominee Programme, but I would think practicality has to prevail here. In my personal experience its not that easy to obtain a visa for Canada, pure and simple.

Wouldn't your statement suggest that Poles are emmigrating to Canada?

Can't say I do. I was just pointing out that contradictory nature of the statement.

I would have thought the UK would be more appealing to most Poles as it is slightly closer to Poland. With Ryanair, Easyjet etc. it is quite east to travel back to Poland on a regular basis at minimal cost.

And long may it continue...*

I have to agree with you Franek .... I was in Canada in the 90's and absolutely loved it out there. I stayed in Vancouver and then went across to Edmonton, stopping in Whistler, Vancouver Island, Calgary, Jasper and Banff along the way.

Canada is definitely one of the countries I'd consider settling down in; but at the moment we're going to do Poland, but you never know where you'll end up !!

There's a big push to attract people to Canada at the moment, especially the Alberta area !
