The cheapest way i guess is to find somebody that is going over with an empty van or big car , perhaps one of the Poles who has bought a van or car to sell for parts in Poland , perhaps you can share costs with them....I am a Brit who is living in Poland , at some point i will be over in UK to pick up a Jeep cherokee to bring back to Poland , but i don,t know if it will fit in with your plans...which area of the UK are you at , and which area of Polska are you going to...? I am living in the Ostrowice area of Polska , and i will be going to the Leeds and Scarborough area of the UK , mind you i could make a detour i guess.....OOOPS...just realised you are in Canada...kinda out of my way a bit....sorry...

A friend of mine transfered her items by boat. it was relatively cheap. That was from Montreal to Cork Ireland. She found services by Container. It took three weeks.

Drive out to the St Lawrence, duct tape all your belongings to your body and jump in and start swimming...
