I might be moving to Florida....

I remember go spring break in Ft. Lauderdale back long ago, talk about crazy times:)
Now its a retirement village!!!

I guess they had to stop the madness..lol

sledz, I never considered Sanibel part of Ft Myers for some reason (though I considered North Fort Myers more a neighborhood than a separate entity, I don't know what it's current status is). Mostly I disliked it for the traffic, for almost a year I had to drive through downtown Ft Myers (41) five days a week. Worst drivers in the continental US.

szarlotka, it's not a good idea to swim in any natural fresh water in Florida, alligators, cottonmouths and snapping turtles are the main attractions and there's a few more too (rattlesnakes take readily enough to water). Oh, and crocodiles have made a return in very south Florida.

They built another bridge theres 4 of them now, I know what you mean though
especially during season trying to get on or off the beach took forever.

I worked right on the beach so I just rode my bicycle mostly, thats the best way
to get around.

the thing is, you got to get a place close to the water. Even with the prices dropping, you still got to go north of Fort Pierce, Space Coast is my spot. West coast does not get the fresh Atlanic breaze, makes it much harder to handle in the summer
Granted, it's still, as my sophisticated friends call it, a cultural black hole, but I say you can change anything except the weather. Puter helps.

and Florida's west coast does not get any waves, except for occasional hurricane. Right coast!
