Microbreweries u guys call them?

yes, for many years Moslon and Labbats have lead the way but for the last 10 years other brands came into the scene. Quebec province had them for years, so maybe it came from there.

If I may ask, where did u teach in Poland? I teach here in Gliwice, do u know it?

Slupsk. Szczecin and small town close to Krakow. I know where Gliwice is - Silesian region.

Canadians like to know what's cooking, that's true.

I cannot speak for everybody, but me being at Uni in social studies definately helps. I think that in general Canadians always like to separate themselves from the American way of thinking. Also the history in of Canadian immigration was heavily influanced by French and English, with a sad history of the aborigianls.

That's why ur nation produces a lot of good journalists.

it is good to heat - CBC radion is very good.
Although in my opinion there are a lot of good Polish journalists - Ryszard Kapuscinski is worth checking out.

U mentioned Protestant influences, how do u see those as being different from Catholic influences?

that is a topic for a whole new thread IMO.

I am not Polish and will not forget. The four RCMP constables must face trial for manslaughter or the RCMP's reputation will be stained permanantly with Mr Dziekanski's death.

yes, I saw it on TV.

I haven't been following the news but as far as aI am concerned, those RCMP constables haven't been brought to trial and a couple of more teaser related deaths happened just last week.

Yeah, well one of them has another strike against him now. Really speaks volumes about the quality of the Nation's Police Force!

One of four Mounties involved in a fatal confrontation with Polish immigrant Robert Dziekanski last year is now facing charges of impaired driving in an accident that killed a 21-year-old man last weekend on a quiet street in Tsawwassen, B.C.

The dramatic news comes as Crown attorneys are trying to decide whether to lay criminal charges against the officers in the case of Mr. Dziekanski, who died after being tasered by officers at the international arrivals area of Vancouver airport.

RCMP Tasering Officers of Robert Dziekanski NO CHARGES!!

news1130.com/news/topstory/article.jsp?content=20081212_081322_9216

Friday, December 12 - 11:05:00 AM

After more than a year of review, no charges will be laid against four RCMP officers after the death of Robert Dziekanski at YVR.

The Crown says expert opinion determines sudden death following restraint, something the Crown says is fairly common as what led to his death. Stan Lowe with the Crown says the four Mounties involved followed protocol at the airport, that day.

"Charges happened in this case was undertaken by, and reviewed, by three levels of executive management within the Criminal Justice Branch. The reviews were unanimous in the conclusion. There is a substantial body of independent evidence, which supports that the officers in question were lawfully engaged in their duties when they encountered Mr. Dziekanski."

>>"the four Mounties involved followed protocol " so 4 well trained cops walking up to Robert followed protocol by not trying to communicate verbally but deciding to TASER after 24 seconds is protocol?? TV commercials last longer!!

Do you always have to be a cynical prick, no matter what the topic is? I have come across quite a few Scots in my life, and none have been as hard to get along with as you have been throughout my PF experience.

You are a lone wolf on this one. Don't you understand the mark, ;)?

The verdict was terrible, I agree. Filios, I enjoyed writing to you but you became really tense. Many wrote me about how you had changed and gotten sth up yo ass. Relax man, I actually like you. I don't care how you feel about me.

In real life, I'm way different. My true feelings are that this was a travesty of justice. Authorities protecting themselves again. I like my cynicism tho ;)
