I wanna stay in usa but my papers are out of date. I am trying, asking and it seems like the only way to stay here is to get a wife with usa citizenship. Any other sugestions?

I think it all depends on the VISA...my boyfriend went/is going through the same situation. He did go home and is coming back in May. 2 of his friends did win the "lottery" and are now citizens!

Some States are legalizing Same sex marriage find a good friend that would go along with it.
Talk to other Poles who did not go back and see what they tell you . You will be surprised.

I wish the government pass some kind of immigration law and resolve the issue for many. I feel bad for a lot of people desparate to be here. Many, very good people, could start legally contributing to this country.
For now, many lawyers are just making money on false promises.

But it would be alot more fun for bartosz to marry a woman.

You know I was kidding. And you are the one that wants to marry him. Do you have a picture or profile for him to see? It would help.

If you overstay your visa, you can apply for an extension, but that will only last for a while. And it's true, once you go back to Poland, you won't be able to come to the US for 10 years. So the best ( and probably the only) solution is to get married to a US citizen. And you only have to be married for 3 years to get citizenship, then get a divorce if you don't like each other. I heard you can pay $5.000 or more for such an activity.

Hopefully Poland will soon be entered into the Wisa Waiver Program. Some say October 2007 but we'll see

The truth they don't tell you about the visa waiver program: You have to go back. This visa is for visiting only. If you overstay this visa, no lawyer, no marriage, nothing will help you to stay in the US. You will be deported right away if caught.
No lawyer will even touch this case.

You don't have to be unhappy when they live in another house for 3 years.

$15.000. Sounds good, but .....OK. I know this couple who got illegally married. He's polish, she a US citizen. They don't live together, in fact the guy has a wife with him, but "pretended" they got divorced. They had to go to the USCIS office and there they were asking them VERY private questions. And since the guy overstayed his Polish visa, the US goverment is cracking down on cases like that, now the US "wife" has to deal with it, saying that he's her "husband" and she needs him, etc.
I personally don't like what they are doing. I don't like cheaters and liers.
Bit it's none of my business.

Yes, it is a very unethical way to gain a citizenship in the US. However, I've seen adds in polish papers and on line about "business" marriages. It spoils the image and make INS more vigilant. You're right, one can get him/herself in a lot of trouble doing it, but it does happen.

I think, it's different, if it is a real marriage. You need to through all the personal questions anyway. My American friend married a man from South Africa. They went through a lot of hassle, but it's love...Oh.

Depends. If two people love each other (I mean - not the "business" people, but let's say a Polish man met a Polish woman, but the Polish man has no valid papers and marries a US citizen for papers). Or many other possible reasons. If the governments are ethical, people will be ethical too. But it will never happen so I dont' think it's so "unethical".

And too, everything in a marriage is 50-50. So when they do get a divorce after 3 years, after getting their citizenship, everything they owe is split in half, their income, assets. Unless they sign a pre-nuptial agreement.
And yes, that's true. There are many reasons why they want to marry for papers, some ethical some not.
