We have no idea if the locals really will get frustrated. However, at some point there is bound to be some problems. It's in the nature of some people to blame others for their problems and foreign folk will make an easy target. Maybe.

I have less respect for people like you than for these foreigners because they are loyal to their homelands. Pole is the worst enemy of a Pole. Thats old saying but too true.

I wouldn't buy a property in Poland. I have enough hectars of land on my own there and don't think I would find a buyer anytime soon even if I wanted to. I'm not a Polish enemy either. I just think you want to achieve something that your own parents and Polish friends f.ucked up by voting for the EU.

Ola....if you want to make a voice for yourself....... start a movement in Pl to make your thoughts known to the populace (look it up). Maybe start a movement to get PL onto the Euro faster. I project it will be another 6 years of the Zl. bottom line is..... money makes the world go round, and he who has it, has control. Everyone has their price. Moze you are upset that all your friends are having success abroad(look it up) and you are stuck here in PL making 50zl a day working 10 godz/day at a kebab place. Make some changes for yourself. and quit b-itching about your own sad existance

Actually Ola, capitalism is not bad. I own my own business and work very hard, many long hours and days. I do okay and I have paid for everything I have. Now with real estate, one way to make a country richer is for the real estate to be worth more, real wages usually go up to make up for the lack of $$ to make payments because if i spend 10,000ZL for a house and then 10 years later sell it for say 75,000Zl then I made 65,000Zl which I will uise to buy a new home, and pay the other person more, then that person has more money and they spend it on shoes, cars, ice cream, what ever they spend it on, it grows the economy. i was in Poland 3 years ago and my friends mother works 50 hours a week and makes 1600 Zl a month, not alot of money. Compared to other countries. As real estate goes so does the economy. Poland has no where to go but up, the area my friend lives in has such horrible roads and conditions. But as the economy grows the roads will be better, you see it is for everyones benefit, not just the greedy seller, they will spend it. This is what fuels the American economy. I built a house 10 years ago for 125,000 american $, i sold it 1 month ago for 415,000 american dollars, now I will go out and buy a large tract of ground and subdivide it and sell the lots and make more and build mysoef a nice home to retire in, also would love to goto poland and buy a small vacation home so I can visit relatives. So I will come and bring some of my American Money there so it will grow your economy. You do not need to be so hostile, it is not bad. Look the soviets took it all, plundered the country for soooo Looong, you deserve a piece of the pie!!!! my dear, get out from under that rock, work hard and you will have a chance to have it, there are many here in America with that same defeatist attitude, and unless you pull yourself up, no one will do it for you, you can do it!! There is no top to what you can achieve as a free person. You couldn't do this 20 years ago, so take this freedom and be posative and do something about it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Wise words, Larry. But the idea of Poland becoming a country with empty houses (full only in summer when the weather is nice and the Polish or foreign owners come for vacation from the countries they make money to afford those houses in Poland) is not good either.

Ola, I am disappointed in your xenaphobic attitude. Poland is much better off in the EU (as opposed to the old system in the 80's) Capitalism is NOT destroying your chances of buying a home. I live in Ireland and am Irish. I earn less than average wage and cannot even affford half a flat if i tried Its economic forces, inflation, wages, etc. Its not the fact that germans, french, english, other Irish etc buy land. (its not this to any large degree at all!) I am a business studies degree holder and Accountant by proffession and as some one who studies economics I cannot see any valid, logical, rational, fair and balanced arguement supporting your claim. Capitolism is not perfect. But its not 'bloody foreigners' that are to 'blame' Its like crime in Ireland. it takes ONE pole to be convicted of robbery and all of sudden, all crime here is polish fault!! (which is not true and any rational person knows this - also, this topic has been discussed in length before) I also, would like to buy land in poland so that i may work, live, earn living there. I will not let any xenophobe dictate what i do in a free European Union. If you wish to be so that is of course your perogative, I would presume you are catholic (forgive the presumation) 'treat others as you would like them to treat you' im sure this includes being racist (for ANY reason - there is NO justification for it)

I understand, but they are bringing money to buy them, but it is like that here too, but the people who own them pay property taxes as well. It still brings money to the region even if its for a few months, some poeple eventually retire in them. Imagine the amount of money if there were 100 homes bought like that for 75,000zl to someone who lived there and had it goven to them. Foriegn money is not bad. now those 100 people now will say buy a home worth 40,000zl and save the other 35,000zl and live comfortably, nothing wrong with the polish people who have lived so hard and endured so hard to have a bit of comfort. So there you have 100 x 35,000 thats 350,000zl for your local economy, lets say one of them opens a bakery and spends 20,000zl and this is thier dream to have, then people can buy from them. So its not just skin deep, it is a core reason America does so well. I started my company on nothing, I build new homes, I got a lan, built and sold, and I do it over and over again. I pay taxes, I create jobs, many jobs, so when they opern thier bakery they hire a school aged girl to help with baking on weekends, or one day a week, she brings home 25zl and feels good about what she has accomplished, and the man who lives down the street starts a little grocery, and one 2 miles away opens a dress store with thier money, and hire 4 more poeple each. so now we have 12 people with new jobs and more zl floating around. Really and honestly, i have been involved in Real Estate for 23 years, and nothing can come close to creating a vibrant society, so dont be afraid of that empty home for 10 months, its paid for and has dividends to boot.

i was in wroclaw 11/06 and alot of building is being done I was there last week...OMG The amount they did in that time was PHENOMINAL!! More to do, but wow! the progress made! It will not surprise me the rate that poland will grow in the EU (as the EU is funding alot of it) The fact is that Poland will become one of the BIG countries of the EU (as an economic force - its already BIG (38ish million around the EU) AND ola, EU, all about intregration, unity, free movement, free DOM its a GOOD thing that is happening to Poland though you cannot see it now. My girlfriend had to swallow her words from last NOV-06 when the university looked so bad under renovation, i said it will look lovely when done. she was oh, they will never finish it, they will make a mess, it will look horrible (to be fair, alot of them said this) But nie, its a fantastic job they did and to ALL the spots i saw finished since november, even my girlfriend has been caught being, dare i say, optimistic about it

two things worth understanding ola firstly, polish land is EU land now and that means EU members can buy it - the same rights apply to you.. secondly, it is polish greed that is forcing property prices sky high, not hoards of scavaging capitalists... i realise that this is very hard for you to acknowledge but really, dont loose sleep over it...

I am not trying to change your minds and how you feel, I am just relaying what my experience has been with this. Money is money, and work is work, it just depends on the vehicle you want driving it. With low prices comes low wages, a vibrant society will have inflation, its part of it. It will eventually come to poland like this just as it has in other Eu countries. It is inevitable, look for the wave and ride it up, it can be a good experience. Just look for the signs, it is not evil to make good money, just evil if you make it and do not share it, or wisdom of it. money will only make a corrupt heart evil only if the eil is there already.

You would sell too for a high price...if you had the land to give. try take the high ground if you wish, maybe you'd turn it down to spite us. I would sell for high price - i could use the money, thats why its supply v demand. the right price, etc etc. its what allows a market economy thrive and why communism died (well, one reason why anyway)

I read that it is actually domestic demand that has pushed residential demand up. As more Polish people leave the countryside and to live in the cities that is creating more demand and that pushes prices up. But yes foreigners are buying real estate and in London we have similar problems buying houses because prices are so high.

Replace it with a bright and contrite spirit, one that is humble, now that is beautiful. Release your fears, because it is partly fear driving your words, release the dear and hatred, so you can prosper as well, like I said before, you can do the same, and maybe better than others....try it.., you can be suprised what you have inside you and what you can do with it.
