I think in England mixed raced kids are accepted more now than they were 20 years ago and btw it wasnt the white kids at school that gave my school mate hassle it was a couple of black girls! So you see the lesson for today is: Its not only white people that can be racist! I personally wouldn't want children that are mixed race, because I would imagine there will be some problems and life is hard enough as it is!

ok now that i've gathered some thoughts together whilst driving home....... Would a lost white guy with a blonde chick be ok walking through a predominantly black neighbourhood..... with no harasment? could he use a mobile phone, safely, to call a friend for directions ? would he park his nice new shiney porsche there, with girlfriend inside, whilst popping upto the cash dispenser.... ? i think we all know the answer to these questions.....eh warmmilkychoc1 but lets see, could a blackman do the same in a predominantly white area of town ? Yes ! so what's the difference between black and white ? AAG - any ideas ? ok any ideas at all, about anything ? AAG !

the real question is: have YOU got that nice new shiny porsche? i lived in a black neighbourhood (brixton) and was never harrassed in any way. it`s the way you carry yourself. if you look confident walking down the streets you shouldn`t get attacked but if you look lost and vulnerable, that`s a different story. one time i was coming back from a club with a female friend at 1am. we were going through some backstreets and came across a bunch of black teenagers. i was walking confidently and wasn`t scared at all while she chicken out when she saw the guys started walking in our direction and run home. i was like wtf? the guys eventually crossed the street, they weren`t even following us. @_@

Not like my experience when with some (4) Pakistani youths 14-17 Y.O in Limehouse (branch rd) area of London- who set upon us just because they thought my wife looked too good to be left alone..... they were armed with 6" screwdrivers, fortunately we where coming back from the ski show and ski poles are slighty longer than 6"s... right in front of the stations CCTV, police couldn't help because tower hamlets boro council hadn't turned the cameras on.....

and you wonder why i'd pound the next guys face in if it ever happens again !

This is ridiculous. To some how say that whites are in danger in black neighborhoods is unbelievable. Why is this myth of the dangerous black man perpetrated so well? Look at the figures, look at the numbers. It isn't whites being killed and harmed. Why white people think they need to fear blacks when it should be the other way around is beyond me. Wake up, people. The numbers and FACTS aren't in your favor.

If you were told of a people that invaded a country, took the people of that country to a foriegn land and made them slaves, hung thousands of them from trees, then put them in ghettos and prisons, wouldn't allow them to use the same bathrooms or go to good schools, gave them prison sentences 4 times longer, which people would you be frightened of?

Your argument would hold water if it wasnt for the fact that a lot of black people in Britain are second or 3rd generation Africans. Therefore they have never been slaves, or forceably moved from their country, or hung from trees, or put into ghettos, or limited to particular bathrooms or schools or given prison sentences 4x longer.

Is'nt there a statute of limitations on blaming history for personal shortcomings? Also, Poles may blame history for institutional failures in their country but I'm not aware of any of them blaming history for any individual disappointments they experience.

It's just that white people, and I am no exception, really have no idea of the inconsistencies in our society. We're so privaledged that we can't see beyond our own noses. This is natural but it doesn't make it right. Two years ago, white people in America were polled and 75% believed that blacks had an equal chance to succeed in America. That might not seem outrageous until you consider that 40 years earlier in 1965, the same poll was given and the same results were found, that 75% felt that Blacks had a fair shake. In 1965! I mean, if we were so wrong then, what's keeping us from being just as wrong now?

Yes, we have different traits based upon our education and social upbringing. I certainly rather depend upon a African raised in the jungle to lead me out of the jungle after a plane crash, then rely on some Oxford or MIT math major who's never been camping to try to get me out. the oriental persons brain is superior in intellect - clever bunch these japs and chinks...
