Don't read too much into it if his English isn't particularly fluent.

On the flip side, you can be more direct and ask if he fancies you without feeling too awkward, as there's no cultural connotations / semantics (or whatever the term is).

It depends on the voice tone and intensity he used.

Hmm... It sounds quite formal in Polish. I think he wanted to show he was less affectionate at the time....

I may be wrong, individuals vary in emotions they attach to their language, but Girl is similar to Woman!: Kobieto! which suggests somebody is a bit irritated...

I think you need to consult a psychologist on this....

that doesn't ring any bells with me for Polish, but if he was writing in English it could be it was something he learned at some time as English (or American) slang or he might just be trying for what he thinks is a casual tone in English.

Probably no big deal either way.

Stop giggling and get on with it - ask him out.

Are you related to somebody called Firef by any chance? (search through some old threads and you'll get the picture)

:)

Sophie, you must understand. There are 38 million Poles in this country, half of them males. They are not made according to the same standard, they vary. For me Girl or Woman! sounds serious and I would use it when irritated.
Maybe other guys try to sound romantic saying so, I don`t know.

No. Lady is sth like pani, madam.
Woman is kobieto and that`s how rude male drivers address their female, less attentive counterparts on the road: Gdzie się pchasz, kobieto! :)

No, she is right to ask about it. I would too if I was addressed boy - chłopcze. It sounds rude to me.

Awwwe,
One thing is obvious, you like him.
Why don't you meet up with him.

Not yet. Firstly, we have to decide what he meant by girl.

I have found another thread where you provide more details:
sophie88:

hiya, im new to the forum.... i met a polish boy through a walking club, we get along quite well, i have never met a polish person before. we are always laughing. he sent me this text...... what does it translate to and does he like me???

zajebiscie sie bawilem! dzieki za mily wieczor :-) Do zobaczenia jutra. buziaki

If that`s the case, I think you shouldn`t worry. He meant girl in the romantic sense of the word.
Besides, the fact that he thanks you suggests he is a well-mannered intelligent man.
What can you do to attract him more?
I don`t know.... Each relationship is created in a different way.... Sort of, natural way.

Funny you'd say that.I often hear Afro people use the term 'boy' amongst themselves like: ''go on boy'',''cool boy?'' etc,etc...but several people have warned me against ever saying 'boy' to an Afro person lest I'd be punched in the mouth? What do the rest on here think?

Once a boy meant a black servant. A slave. Didn`t you watch the final scene in Wild Wild West when two guys are hanging on a wheelchair high above the ground, one is black (Will Smith) and gets pissed off when the other calls him boy ???

If you are white, they read your boy as a derogatory expression.

However, when they say it to each other, it has a meaning of a guy, I suppose, in Polish - chłopie - chap, pal.

He probably meant it like "You go, girl!" - American slang with roots in ebonics, means absolutely nothing serious.
