Kotek - is it normal for my boyfriend to call other girls this name?

Is it normal that my BF calls other girls kotek? I know that it means kitten.

Not at all, she's not lesbian haha. I would be worried if she called "kotek" another man unless they were very close friends and you knew him.

just asked my Polish boyfriend about this and he says you would only call your girlfriend this or a really good friend. Its kind of like honey/sweetheart in English.

So if its to good friends then I wouldn't worry. If its to all girls then it still might be innocent enough, he might just like funning around..or he might be flirting a bit. Depends on his character.

I edited my previous post if you care to have a look. I don't blame you for not liking it. How do you know he calls her that? Tell him you don't like it and see what he says.

Now forgive me but "how do you accidently see a text message" exactly ... now either you were looking over his shoulder when he was typing it, which i cant imagine or you went through his messages on his phone which seems likely ... not at all jealous and insecure there are we?

I find this really strange and I would not accept something like that.
I mean that it was wrong of you to read his messages, but it is done, so I really think you should confront the guy with this. don't let him play you!!

sweet names calling happens in my group of friends... but
we've known each other for a long time, we are close, it doesn't happen often, and it's very sarcastic...ouch...

On this subject. I would be very suspicious of this guy. However I would be raging if my girlfriend read any of my text messages (if any did they would get no shocks...my texts all pretty much consist of "fancy a pint?" haha). There is a certain privacy to a phone's memory that must be respected. I would never read anyone's text messages be it a girlfriend, mate or family.

I would kill my man after 2nd time he calls someone else than me. the 1st time is to let him know i dont like it...
in my perception, we are not that "warm" culture as others (especially latinos who call all women with variety of cute names). Therefore, it is suspicious and a bit "abnormal"...

Yes, yes; women frequently seem to find things by "accident". I've had women 'accidentally' open up my lap top; 'accidentally' look into my wallet; 'accidentally' go thru my records; 'accidentally' steal a $50 bill; 'accidentally' read my notes. Women just seem to have lots of, um, "accidents".

He should dump you, 'accidentally' of course.

Did you know that Kotek is the name of a feminine sanitary product. When you consider that its not quite so endearing. I think anyone who says they would delete the text messages without reading them is a liar, we all have a natural curiosity and in that situation i would most definitely review them. I was recently in a similar position, only it wasnt my boyfriend but my boss that lent me an old phone.. there were some old text messages on it and yes I did look.. it was extremely interesting, if somewhat disturbing...

in good, closel, honest relation its NORMAL to read messages of your partner the way its happen with Petrushka.
He gave his phone to her - means he was ready she will find something inside during using it.
And means you have ABSOLUTELLY right to ask him straight abt that if you got any doubts.
Maybe its her "nick name" ? Maybe its small funny girl and EVERYBODY calls her that way ?
I knew a man, who used to call ALL girls on his way "baby" and "princess" - his ex-wife, his girlfriend, saller in shop, girls at work - just ALL WOMEN !! with same name without any feelings. Just a word

To be honest Petrushka it isn't about what he calls the girls its about the trust between yourself and your boyfriend. If you trust each other and make sure you know the boundaries of your relationship then a few names or txt messages should mean nothing. If he tells you it is harmless and you trust him, then go with it. If you don't trust him then its time for action.

When i have been in relationships i have always said to my partner that i'm not really bothered what she says/txts etc to other male friends. As far as i'm concerned i will trust her and visa versa. For this trust to happen i also promised all my partners that if i found there to be something that crossed the line (they had been going behind my back) there would be no talks, not saying your sorry, that would be the end of it. As its Wimbledon at the moment i say to them 'the ball is in your court, if you are faithful, i'm cool, if your not, we are not cool'

I no this does not really give you an answer to your original question but i would concentrate more on the trust between the two of you than about a silly name that could be harmless sent over a txt msg.
